Notes from Neale...

My dear friends...

Nearly all of the first month of 2010 has passed and I am wondering how you are doing with your New Year's Resolutions.

Yes, almost one-twelfth of the year is behind us, and these are the days and times of our lives, whittling away, melting down, disappearing into the mist, and what have we got to show for it that we didn't have before? I mean, what progress have we made? What is different now from the way it was before, say, last year at this time?

If your answer is, "Plenty," and if most of it is good, then congratu-lations! You're living the kind of life that all of us want to live. If your answer is that nothing has changed-nothing much, anyway-and that most of what has changed has changed for the worse, then you are not living the life all of us want, and it may be time to reassess how it is that you are moving through this experience here upon the earth.

Just a thought...

And another thought I'm finding myself wanting to share with you comes from my friend Gary Zukav. Gary and his beloved, Linda Francis, live just a short distance from Em and me in Ashland, Oregon. The other night Gary and I both attended a fundraiser here for the Red Cross operation in Haiti where Gary was asked to say a few words.

One of the things that Gary said that really struck me had to do with how one could feel good at a time such as this. Gary put it this way...and I am going to paraphrase here, because I don't remember his exact words, but this was the gist of it...

"How can we come here to this fundraiser and dance and enjoy this music and have fun with each other when there is all that suffering and death and misery in Haiti? This is a question I ask myself when I see the wonderful life I life and the unbelievable challenges sometimes faced by others.

"My answer is, the best way to honor the life of those who died in the Haiti earthquakes is to celebrate life. We want to do all that we can to help those who are suffering in Haiti, and I urge you to do that with your contributions here tonight, but we do nothing to honor those who lost their lives through this tragic series of events by standing in sadness, even with all the good fortune that surrounds us in our own lives.

"Let us celebrate our wonderful good fortune, and thus give it meaning and value and purpose, even as we share what that good fortune has brought us in the way of personal resources with those who have so much less-and who have had even that taken from them. We can help, and one of the ways we can help is to fully live, and completely embrace, the wonderful life we have been given, with gratefulness for all of it even as we share of its abundance."

There is no benefit in us feeling ashamed or embarrassed or funny or in some strange way "guilty" about all the good that is flowing to us even while others are suffering. Rather, we can use our good fortune to lessen the bad fortune of others.

I liked those thoughts from Gary, and I thank him for them. And during these days just ahead, let us give thanks to the God of our understanding for all that we have, and let us share of it generously with those who on this day have so much less.

Love and Hugs,

Neale.

Further explorations of the Conversations with God material from the author

Neale Donald Walsch through the years has given hundreds of talks and written scores of articles revolving around the messages he received in his Conversations with God. Now, every seven days, we will present in this space a transcript or reprint of those presentations. We invite you to Copy and Save each one of them, creating a personal a collection of contemporary and uplifting spiritual thought which you may reference at any time. We hope you will find this a constant source of insight and inspiration.

This week's offering: Life as a System of the Soul - Part II

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

In our most recent entry here we talked about the System of Life, and I said that I wanted to talk more about the Process of Synergist Energy eXchange that we call Life Itself -- and that some people call God. I want to talk about the idea that what we take in is what we put out, and I want to invite you to monitor closely the type of Energy that you are absorbing into your System every day.

Life IS a System, and there is a way to go about changing your life, improving your life, systematically. This "way" is what some people have called...The Secret.

If I consider everything around me as pure energy (which is surely what everything is), I begin to sensitize myself to how all of the energies in my surrounding environment are interacting with each other -- and how they are interacting with ME.

I have discovered that it is possible to become acutely aware of, and attuned to, these energies, and to be able to feel them directly, immediately, and profoundly. I am finding these days that it is impossible for me to put on clothing of a certain color, or eat foods of a certain content, or hear music of a certain genre, without feeling the effect of that energy vibration almost immediately.

The "secret" of life is to know that All Is Energy, and then to monitor and regulate the intake of that energy, as well as focusing and directing the outflow of it from me to all the world. I find that what I take in, I flow out. In this sense, I am like a computer, responding to the rule that every computer analyst knows: GIGO (Garbage In, Garbage Out).

So I don't go to see certain kinds of films, I don't listen to certain types of music, I don't eat certain foods...I don't even say certain words -- or remain long in places and among people where they are spoken. I surround myself with energies that I agree with, and that amplify the energies that I wish to see proceeding from me.

I have also come to understand during my life that as I focus intentionally and intently on the most positive and affirming thoughts (which are, of course, also energies), I can change my life and improve my life in wonderful ways. The Universe responds to the energies I send into it. Like attracts like. My thoughts are like magnets, attracting to me whatever they hold.

I am sure that you have already seen the movie The Secret -- but on the off chance that you have not, you may wish to do so. It is an exploration and explanation of much of what I have just said above. Then, be sure to read the truly wonderful book The Law of Attraction by Esther and Jerry Hicks.

It is this law upon which the movie is based, and there is no better explanation of the operation of this law anywhere than in the books and work of Esther and Jerry, who have been among the most dynamic and effective voices sharing this exciting and empowering information during this period.

I can tell you that too much of the time I am walking around unconscious. I am largely unaware of, or not paying much attention to, the energies that I am inviting into, and creating as part of, my personal space. Yet reading the writings of Esther and Jerry, and understanding through my own conversations with God more and more about the Great Secrets of Life, and being reminded again of these wonderful principles through the messages of such wonderful friends as Rev. Michael Beckwith and the other teachers in The Secret, I am re-centered and reoriented and I feel myself recreating myself anew in the next grandest version of the greatest vision ever I held about Who I Am.

And that, after all, is the purpose of Life!

Neale says - "the Deep Study program is perfect for persons who are wanting to explore the meaning and the nuance of the Conversations with God material more deeply, so that they can share it with others with greater accuracy and impact in Study Groups and other teaching situations. Or even, for that matter, share it more effectively with their family and friends (who may be concerned about what they're "getting into"). It is designed to help one comprehend and articulate the messages of CwG.

Participants will be working closely with me from 9 AM until 7 PM in a very special 3-day Excursion of the Soul. You will experience a full 24 hours if intensive study on the important messages of CwG.

This program is especially recommended for those who wish to teach this material in any format (i.e., study groups, lectures, one-day seminars, full-scale workshops) for their church or on their own.
It is also a wonderful resource for individuals who simply yearn to know more -- much more -- about how these principles can be applied in their lives.

It is perfect for those who simply wish to be able to talk more fluidly and explain more easily and clearly what CWG is all about when family members or friends ask, "What is this that you're into?"

Participants will be able to ask any questions they wish; the questions about certain aspects of CwG that they've always wanted answered."

The CWG Deep Study program cost is $895. Participants will handle their own meals and lodging during their stay in beautiful Ashland, Oregon

We know that this program is not for everyone. We expect a handful of people from around the world will participate. So you will be in a very small group (we limit attendance to 30). To hold your place contact Will Richardson at:
