Notes from Neale...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My dear friends...
Each week here we seek to give you something in this Bulletin to think about, something that we hope might serve you as you continue your spiritual journey, and  inspire you as you face your daily life challenges.
This week I'd like to focus on the reason that humanity as a whole has not shifted to a theology of unity. The reason is that much of humanity has sincerely believed that this is not what God wants.
All talk of human beings being one with God and one with each other has been labeled fluffy, "new age," or out of touch with reality. Some have even called it apostasy. In the book What God Wants we are told that everything that humanity has been taught about God says that God is separate from humanity. God wants to be separate, because humanity in its present form is not worthy of unity with God. That is the teaching. That is the message.
God is Perfect and humanity is imperfect, and the Perfect cannot be united with the imperfect. This is an integral part of most human theologies.
So the imperfect must find a way to be Perfect. Yet that way cannot be found, because perfection is impossible to achieve in human form. Some religions even teach that humans are born in a state of imperfection, and so there is that problem going in. Other faiths say that humans may be born without blemish, but the task is to remain without blemish. All religions agree that on the journey of life there are temptations to which human beings fall prey. And so, perfection is pretty much out of reach for most.
Still, one must try. One must strive. And if one strives for perfection, God will reward that effort with a final act of Grace, rendering the imperfect Perfect Once Again. Then, reunion with God in heaven can be achieved.
This is another simplification, yet it comes very close to summarizing the doctrine of most religions.
And so, there appears to exist a dichotomy. God wants humans-indeed, has caused humans-to be separate from God. Yet God has given humans a "way back home" because What God Wants is for humans not to be separated from God.
Hmmmm.
Now the unaskable question must be asked.
IS this What God Wants?
And the answer is, no.
This answer changes everything. With it, the forward edge of human thought takes on new sharpness, and cutting through confusion becomes possible once again.
God does not want Oneness, with humans or anything else. God ISOneness, and God does not want what God is already experiencing
Human beings claim they want Oneness with God and with other humans.  Yet humanity cannot experience what humanity already has if it denies that it has it.
This is the answer to another mystery: Why has it been so hard for the world's people to experience Oneness with God, or with each other?
You cannot experience what you are unwilling to express. You cannot get to where you already are. By the very act of leaving, you deny that you have arrived at where you want to go. Given this belief, you can never experience being there. Your life will become a constant journey. It will be a journey to nowhere. It will be an endless search. A search for what is already there.
Looking for your glasses when they are on top of your head, you'll not find what you are searching for. You'll only find what you are searching for when looking into a mirror.
So far, humanity has not been very good about looking into mirrors. Introspection is not humanitys long suit. Having read this far, you've proven yourself to be the exception.
Why have humans denied their Oneness? Because humans have confused oneness with sameness. We have not understood that no two fingers are alike, even though all are on one hand.
Afraid of losing individuality, desperately fearful of disappearing their own identity, human beings have tenaciously clung to their illusion of separation from each other, from all things in life, and from God. Especially from God. For if humanity is not separate from God, not only do people fear losing their individual identity, oneness with Deity suggests a whole new way of acting, a whole new way of being, for which religions have left humans woefully unprepared.
Yet it is not necessary to prepare yourself to love. Love is what you are, and so, loving comes naturally to you. Stopping yourself from loving is what is hard. Love of everyone and everything in life comes easily when fear of anyone or anything disappears. And fear of anyone or anything disappears when you realize that you don't need anything from anyone or anything, because everything you thought you needed to get from something or someone outside of yourself is available within you.
Now the circle completes itself, and you are Whole. Now, all that you find within you, you can give to others, who may not yet know that they are Whole as well.
Showing another that they are lovable is the fastest way to assist them in finding wholeness, in finding the love that is within themselves. When you love others you quite literally give people back to themselves.
In the end, love and fear are the only feelings there are. Life brings you a constant stream of opportunities to choose between the two.
These words from What God Wants wake me up every time I read them. They tell me that there is still much work left to be done in our work. That work will continue, I know, even if the Foundation gets down to a staff of one. We'll do what we can. And I know you will, too.
So, if we find enough funds to continue, we'll see you next week. Otherwise, I send you...
love and hugs and
best wishes on your journey...
Applying The Messages of CwG
Questions and Answers with Readers and Neale
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

EDITOR'S NOTE: The material for this feature has been gathered from communications between CwG readers and Neale Donald Walsch, author of Conversations with God.

Dear Neale,

It's been more than two years since I have read the first CWG book and since then I've read them all and I keep on reading them over and over. I can't get enough of these wonderful messages. The way I look at life has changed tremendously since then. And I can really say that the new spirituality feels like freedom. Actually, it is freedom.

Anyway, what I wanted to talk to you about is the topic of choosing and wanting. That is the part that always confused me in your books. God says that wanting is declaring that you do not have it and choosing is declaring that you have it. This is basically what the difference is, right?

So when you place the thing you desire into the future and declare you have it (because the future and the present are happening now, and now is all there is) the experience must come to you. God also says that words are one level of creation, so when you say "I want..." the universe says "Yes" and gives you more of the experience of wanting, which you only can do when you have the experience of not having something.

And when you say: "I Choose..." then you will attract the experience you declare to choose, because you know it already exists. Still, the difference between wanting and choosing is not very clear to me always. Ask and It Is Given by Esther & Jerry Hicks says that the experience of not having things can be very helpful in creating, because of the contrast they provide, out of which a new desire is born or the already existing desire becomes more powerful. They are using the word 'wanting' often when they describe a process of creating.

And I also believe it's true that out of not having someting a new desire comes. And that desires do not come if you feel you already have everything.

What I conclude of CWG is that desiring something is always declaring not having it (because, why would you desire something you already have?) and thus you will not experience it. So the only option is to remember you already have everything, because you are One with God. But if you achieve that state of being, you will not desire anything, right?

So then, you will not declare anything and the experience you thought having would be so great, would now seem just like every other experience...(well, every experience would then be exhilirating, but not one will be preferrable over the other) then what would be the point of still choosing this particular experience?

The answer is obvious: there would be no desire to specifically choose this experience, because you have achieved mastery and anything and everything is perfect the way it is.

Actually, this prospect does not seem so great to me. I know that this is the way God feels, as All That Is, but aren't we here to experience parts of it and not the whole? Because we feel like that when we are in the Absolute Reality and now we are in the Relative Reality. So isn't it the point of life to experience those parts and that it is only possible to do that when the opposite exists? Because otherwise, you can't desire anything...and isn't desire the way to choose the 'parts of God' you wish to experience? So isn't desiring something that always must be answered by the universe anyway in order to be able to live your purpouse?

And then, because desire always comes from not having something, would then 'wanting' not be the same as 'choosing'? What if we start believing that every desire we have (whether it's wanting or choosing) is simply a desire that will always be answered? (as Ask and It is Given says) Will that not cause a fulfilling of all desires, if only we use the process of allowing well and we stay in vibrational match? If that is true and we do that, then it wouldn't matter whether we say "I want..." or "I choose...", or would it? What is your view on this?

Thanks in advance.

Love,

Michiel

Dear Michiel...Whew! When you ask a question you don't kid around, do you...that's a lallapalooza there!

Okay, let's start at the beginning. Everything has to do with consciousness and the Process of Creation. Everything depends on the level of consciousness at which one resides and from which one is coming when one engages the Process of Creation. Reading Conversations with God or Ask and It Is Given processes or, for that matter, any other book) is like reading the Bible. It is very dangerous to take a selected paragraph or sentence and make a General Rule About Life out of it. I would caution against doing this.

This is, however, exactly what you have done with regard to the injunction against using the word "want" that is found in Conversations with God. In general, this rule makes sense, as it applies to the largest number of people who read it. Very few of these people reside at the level of consciousness demonstrated in your question. I certainly did not when this material was first given to me.

When I used the word "want," I was very certain that I did not have what it was that I was "wanting." Only much later, after being given much more of the Conversations with God material, did I come to deeply understand the Process of Creation. This is a process by which we "call forth" that which we desire. Only much later did I realize that what I wished to create could not be created, for the extraordinary reason that it already existed in the Field of Infinite Possibilities!

Now that I know this, I can use the word "want" whenever I choose because I know that the word "want" is interchangeable with the word "desire." Now, "wanting" something means, in my mind, that I simply "desire" to experience a part of That Which Already Exists. Years ago I did not have this understanding, and so, when I said that I "wanted" something, what that meant in my mind was that I yearned for something that I did not have. For people operating at this level of consciousness it is very much preferable to use the phrase "I choose" or "I desire," because for most people of meeting awareness the words "I want" actually amount to a declaration. And what is declared is what occurs. This is how the Process of Creation works.

Now, after nine books and 3000 pages of conversations, I realize that I already have everything I could possibly wish to have. It is all at my fingertips. All I have to do is announce my desire for it, and it is made manifest in my reality.

This is the understanding that is described in the wonderful book by Esther and Jerry Hicks. My book, Conversations with God, was written for a person of extremely limited awareness -- namely me. It is a Beginner's Manual for Spiritual Seekers.

You are clearly not someone who falls into this category. I therefore give you permission to use the word "want" whenever you...well, actually, whenever you WANT!

Thanks for the question, Michiel. Great question!

Love, Neale.

Best of the Blogs...

Each week we present in this space the best from past entries on the worldwide CwG Blog.  The blog can be accessed daily on the home page at www.beliefnet.com.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
NOTE: One of the readers of the CWG Blog on Beliefnet.com wrote this little note to me, and I thought I would pass it along to you today...
Neale:
If you don't read any other comment on this blog, I hope you read this one.
I just attended a screening of a film not-quite-done-with-post-production, called Raw for Thirty Days. Remember "Supersize Me," the film in which Morgan Spurlock went on a Mickey-D's-only diet for thirty days and chronicled the effects on his health? Well, this is the exact opposite. Six diabetics take the challenge to spend a month under medical supervision at a rejuvenation center in the southwest, eating only freshly prepared raw food and relearning how to cook. In a world chock-full of stupid reality TV shows, this is one reality movie of real quality that people should see.
The results were amazing. Four of the diabetics went home off all medications, one Type I diabetic went home on 5 daily units of insulin instead of 70, and, well...one guy couldn't make the adjustment and went home prematurely. Watching the drama as the participants cheer each other on--one guy falls off the wagon halfway through--makes this an entertaining and wonderful film.
You're hanging in there with Michelle as she struggles with homesickness, and there were more than a few tears shed in the screening when Henry goes home and goes back on his meds. When you get to the end and everybody else goes home medication-free, you're cheering right along with them. And it introduces a very timely question: What is "raw food" and why should we learn about making it?
The executive producer was there to answer questions after, and, sad to say, this film probably won't get a theatrical release because there are no big stars in it and no $40 million promotional budget. But if there was ever an important movie made, this is it.
The website is here http://www.rawfor30days.com/Site/Raw_For_30_Days.html and it's going to be premiering at film festivals starting in June.
Neale, please keep an eye out for this movie. If you can use your influence and world stage to help it go to theaters and not straight to video, please, please think about it. It's Spritual Cinema at its finest!!
Thanks for reading.
--Linda.
Dear Weekly Bulletin Reader: I am merely here passing along a note that someone posted on my blog. Please do not read this as an "official endorsement" from me of raw food, or any particular rejuvenation center, or even of this film. I just thought you might be interested in knowing about this.
I certainly don't want anyone, on the strength of what is written here, to stop taking their medications and start eating raw foods and to think that this is a cure-all. Please don't go there. As with all things medical, see and consult with your medical care provider before making any major change in your medications or diet.
Having said that-this is fascinating info, no?
A Note of Thanks!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Just a note to those of you wonderful ones who helped the Foundation move toward its financial assistance goal last week by jumping in there and coming up with tons of five and ten dollar monthly contributions!

The little (three employee) ReCreation Foundation needs very little each month to keep rolling along with its mission, and last week's appeal in this space brought in just under $4,000 to bolster our dwindling bank account. That was wonderful, and we hope that a few more of you will be inspired to help us reach our modest goal of $15,000.

May we just mention once again how a very little bit goes a very long way?

For less than you might spend on a video rental, you can bring Conversations with God into the life of someone who is earnestly searching for spiritual renewal!

* For 50-cents a day you can help someone attend a Conversations with God spiritual renewal retreat on a full scholarship this year. (That would be a commitment of $15 a month.)

* For 25-cents a day you can help us build our Providers Network, which puts people on the ground in cities, towns, and villages around the world, offering access to the CwG material that has touched your life is such a positive way. (That would be a commitment of $7.50 a month.)

* For 10-cents a day you can send a free book to someone who cannot afford it, through our Books-for-Friends Program. (That would be a commitment of $3 a month.)

* Even one penny a day will help put the life-renewing message of Conversations with God into the hands of one more person by supporting the writing and sending of our CwG Weekly Bulletin, which is sent free to anyone who asks for it (currently, that's over 45,000 people). (That would be a commitment of $0.30 a month.)

Please help us reach our goal of increasing our monthly subsistence contributions if you can.

Even in these difficult financial times, we're hoping that you might find a dollar or two a week to keep the energy of this extraordinary, life-giving message flowing. It's so easy, too. Just follow this link and say yes! to CwG.
