The God Iohyot
I have just finished four weeks in Europe -- with four more to go -- and I can tell you that I have never been more inspired or energized!

Everywhere I have been so far the messages of Conversations with God have met with incredible enthusiasm. The reception was exciting and uniform, from Italy, where we did a three-day spiritual renewal retreat, to Crimea on the Black Sea at the southern tip of Ukraine where we did a two-day event, to Germany, where we did 14 events in 11 cities in 6 days!

Everyone loves the material. Everyone is saying that they have been deeply touched, that their lives have changed incredibly because of these books, and that they want to know what, if anything, they can do to move this message forward into the world.

It's been just amazing. We were in Germany for that country's premier of Conversations with God: The Movie, and every location but one in those 11 cities was sold out. And the one that wasn't sold out was almost sold out! It was amazing. And during the question-and-answer sessions following the showing of the film, people were crying, they were so touched. And they asked deep and very penetrating spiritual questions about God and Life and about our Right Relationship with Each Other.

The answers to these questions can, and will, change the world!

I am in London now, as I write this, preparing for a CwG Satsang tonight and a full-day workshop tomorrow, then it's on to Prague for the start of the European River Cruise, after which we'll return to London for a 5-day Intensive here, preceded by one-evening events in Glasgow, Dublin and elsewhere in the UK.

So the word is continuing to be spread, and continuing to be heard. But I think it's important for me at this juncture to make something clear. I never want anyone to get the impression that I think, or that I am saying to other people, that Conversations with God is "it." Don't ever imagine for a moment that I operate under the assumption that CwG is the "be all and end all" of spiritual material. You know, the "answer," the "truth," and all that...

That is not how I feel, and, as you know if you've read the material, that is not what the books say...or anything else close to that. What the books say is that YOU are the Source of the Truth about God and Life. You, you, and Only You. And the invitation of CwG is to explore your own innermost connection with the Divine, then come from that place of "connectedness" as you encounter your Self and engage the world.

And this is the message to which thousands and thousands of people are resonating, as they discover it every day in the 9 CwG texts. And in Europe, as elsewhere, many people are saying that the most meaningful book of all to them is HOME WITH GOD in a Life That Never Ends. I am very inspired by that, and I agree with this assessment. As extraordinary as these books all are, I consider CwG - Book 1 and HOME WITH GOD to be the most important of the books. Interestingly, the opening and closing entries in the series.

If you are living in Europe, there is still time to sign up for my London 5-day Intensive, Oct. 27-31. Go to my schedule for more information. If you live in or closer to the U.S., check out our upcoming Year End Holiday Retreat! And have a good Autumn, if you live in the Northern Hemisphere...and a wonderful Spring if you're down South!!

Hugs and love...Neale.

Neale talks about the New Spirituality and the struggles in Myanmar
"Yes, but as a practical political matter, how would 'Oneness' work?", a questioner in my audience in Hamburg pointedly asked me last week. I had only to look to Myanmar to find an example.

I had just finished telling a crowd of over 300 that the single biggest mistake humanity has ever made has been its acceptance, as part of its Cultural Story, of the idea of Separation.

According to this story, human beings are separate from each other.

This way of holding the human experience is soundly based in "Separation Theology." And what is that? Well, let me ask you a question. Do you think about God? If you do, what thoughts do you think? Do you think that there is a God? If you do, what do you think that God is? A Being in the sky? A loving but stern parent? Someone to fear? Someone to love? Both?

Whatever you think, if you think that there is a God at all, I'm going to wager that there is one thought you hold in common with billions of other people. I could be wrong, you could be one of the few exceptions that prove the rule, but if you are not, if you embrace the view of the vast majority, the thought that you hold in common with billions of others is this...

...God is separate from us.

Most of the world's people adhere to what I have come to call Separation Theology. The God of this theology is named Iohayot. That sounds a bit like a Native American word, but it is not. It's my personal acronym for I'm Over Here And You're Over There.

This is as valid a name as any of the others that humanity has come up with, including Allah, Brahmin, God, Jehovah, Krishna, or Yahweh, and it's far more descriptive of the actual concept of God held by most humans. Religion is not noted for producing widespread agreement among people, yet whatever the fervently religious may disagree on, most concur that God says: "I'm Over Here And You're Over There."

God then adds, "You may come over here if you wish, but there are certain things that you have to do." God then gives us the list of those things. That list has been read by many people in many different ways, and those different ways are sometimes called religions.

There is only One List, each of our religions assert, and we must not be confused into thinking that there are many, nor so perplexed by the False Lists put out by others that we pick the Wrong One.

This description of human theologies is simplistic in the extreme, yet it is not that far from being an accurate, if very basic, summary of our beliefs. And these beliefs are killing us.

Separation Theology-worship of the God Iohayot-will, if it continues much longer on our planet, bring an end to life as we know it on the earth. It has already begun to do so.
Many people believe that this is because, while God is, indeed, "over there" and we are "over here," God has to sometimes come "over here" to teach us a lesson. And so God comes down to punish us for our sins, make us pay for our offenses, or do whatever else is necessary to reestablish the natural order of things and bring Right into proper balance with that which is Not Right.

Under this philosophy the AIDS epidemic, the increasing violence on the earth, the degradation of our environment, the dismantling of our social systems, the erosion and destruction of our collective morals, the poverty and pestilence afflicting millions, are all signs of God's anger -- punishments from On High brought on by humanity's increasingly evil behavior.

The belief in a God who is far away from us, "over there," and who wants and needs or desires or demands something from those of us "over here," is what allows humans to grant themselves the moral authority to inflict punishments of their own upon those who they believe have ignored God's Word and disobeyed God's Commandments.

(This is the first of a three-part series. The second installment will be found here next week.)

What's Happening

We have graduates of our Life Education Program who are out in the world committed to giving people back to themselves through the New Spirituality and the messages of CwG. We want to let you know about these opportunities around the world that are available to you.

The following is a wonderful letter from Andrew Parker, one of our LEP graduates from Australia...enjoy!

" The best way to have a good idea is to have lots of ideas." - Linus Pauling

" Goals are not only absolutely necessary to motivate us.
They are essential to really keep us alive." - Robert Schuller

Hi Everyone,

I felt it was time to feedback some of the positive vibes that I have experienced over the past two months and share a little of the challenges that I face (and know we all face) through this forum as an opportunity for clarity.

I often achieve profound clarity through this level of communication. Generally I have very little idea of what I want to write prior to sitting down except for the quote which tends to give a context or focus for what comes through. This message has the focus of ideas, though I'd like to share with you that the first quote I came across was one about goals so I am going to allow that energy in here as well. I consider ideas and goals to go hand in hand.

So here we go! Having been halfway round the world and back can give one perspective on one's life and insight into the lives of others -- the cultural differences and beliefs and seeing the immense beauty of another land that may be completely alien to you. The language differences and lack of understanding, or being understood, all add to a sense of 'shock' that we tend to call 'culture shock.'

Vava'uI took a group to Vava'u, the island paradise of Tonga, to swim with the majestic Humpback whales of the Southern ocean in their 'lounge room' that is the sheltered waters of the inner reefs. Vava'u is a deeply spiritual place. It is a place that quite possibly was the starting point for the population of the South Seas, an ancient culture taken from Stone Age to internet in roughly 200 years. Amazing!

Vava'u is very close to a part of the Pacific Ocean called the Tongan Trench. This is the largest and deepest abyss in any of the oceans or seas of the world. It is immense 30,000 plus feet of deep blue over thousands of square kilometers. If you go to Google Earth you will see the amazing rift that creates this trench, only second in depth to the Marianas Trench. The island of Vava'u sits on the edge of this abyss. You could almost throw a rock from land to the deepest parts of the ocean from the eastern shore. What has this to do with ideas and goals?

Well, the whales that go there every year follow electro-magnetic energy bands or ley-lines as part of their navigation system. These lines crisscross the earth and their intersection creates an energy 'vortex' often referred to as a "sacred site." The indigenous cultures knew how to tune into these subtle energy fields to help navigate great distances overland. These powerful areas are used for ceremony and ritual, where people gather to get into the 'vibe' of the area, discuss issues or problems, find solutions, expand ideas and ultimately set goals from their visions.

I spoke of Vava'u because the energy of this sacred site is immense and visiting this place has had a profound effect on me. I know I will return and have already begun to finalize bookings for the next journey to the area. This is my way of sharing energy and ideas. Once I have identified an idea from the multitude that I have every hour, that I wish to pursue, I make a small step toward that idea or vision. At each small step I find the key is to tune into one's heart. Each step, each thought no matter how small or large, will give you a result in your heart barometer. How you feel will tell you volumes. I like the idea of having lots of ideas. However, how do you really know which idea to act upon. It is within you. I say again your heart knows and it is your level of awareness when nurtured that will tell you volumes.

WhaleOn my return from Tonga it was time to journey to another ancient land. This time to Augsburg, Germany where family had gathered, to share ideas, to work on concepts and forge alliances. This was Dolphin Fiesta and they tell me that theatre companies from all over Europe always start their shows in Augsburg because if it makes it there, you'll make it anywhere. A European New York? Well what a place it is. I must say that in all the journeys I have embarked upon, all the workshops and retreats, I have never experienced such profound love and connection as I did there. This was a cauldron of possibility stirred by the laughter of the water babies that coursed through the 'elders' gathering and attempt at structure, filled with drums and hugs. There were breakout sessions and an amalgamated timetable that gave a cacophony of choice; you followed your heart to the discussion you most wished to share in. You opened the door into a world of mystical enlightenment through the channeled wisdom of a recognized healer. There were virtual dolphins everywhere, and lets face it, in Germany virtual is about all your going to get? Yet the essence remained the same. Elders like Dr. Horace Dobbs, held council and shared profound wisdom and experience and this all happened before lunch! Then at the end of a transformational week, we took the show on the road to a large and replete public theatre to share with a discerning public our passion, our ideas and, of course, our goals. And we moved them, often to tears. I will carry the memories of that Fiesta Gaia and our gathering of dolphin hearts for the rest of my existence and beyond.

We have, and experience, a gift of biblical proportions, you and me. It is called life. It is time to come to life; to take your passions to the streets and play like there is no tomorrow. This time is ours, yours and mine and the only limitations are the ones we choose. The question is, what do you want? The questions are the keys, for when we live in the question, consistently asking better questions, our lives take flight and ideas and goals are the outcomes. What mountain do you wish to climb today? What boundary do you wish to transcend? What barrier do you wish to crash through? I've been to the mountain top, my friends, and I've seen the Promised Land below. I have seen the glory of the coming of the lord and that lord is you and I, and the glory is the gift of life we all share. See you soon!

Much love,

Hello Friends,

Thanks to all of you who last week sent me your ideas and suggestions for how to make our workshops and retreats more appealing and accessible,

Phillip Daniels - The Theory of LifeThis week I'm so proud to announce that our webstore is now carrying our dear friend, Phill Daniels new CD "Theory of Life."

Phill is an extremely gifted and talented lyricist and musician, as well as a graduate of our LEP program several years ago.

I'm not much of a music person, as I spend most of my time in my car in contemplation and silence, but I find that this album adds to my experience every time, consistently and repeatedly.

I think you know it's rare for me to endorse anyone's talents, but for this album I'm making the exception. Phill offers a wonderful gift through his insightful understanding of the messages of CwG blended with his powerful music.

I urge you to go to the CwG Webstore and get yourself a copy you'll love it!

Here is just a clip of one of my favorites - It's such a thrill to share with you!

Phillip Daniels - Me & You (mp3)

Blessings to all of you, my friends, and remember as I've been reminded this week - the joy is in the journey. Stay present and don't miss a second of it!

Questions & Comments from CwG Readers

Dear Mr. Walsch:

I have three questions that came up for me while reading CwG, Book 1.

(1) There has been of late a surge of literature about, an interest in, angels. What do you think or feel about this subject?

(2) God seemed to have some pretty strong feelings about eating animals, but it seems to me people have been eating animals as far back as the cave man. And even animals eat animals! So when did it become inadvisable?

(3) Lastly, I was really shaken after reading pg. 190 in CwG, Book 1 where it indicated that annual physicals and use of medicine are something we should engage in. Now back on pg. 49, it mentioned that the medical establishment opposes new treatments, even miracles.

I have always felt that by walking into a doctor's office I was giving up the belief that my body is capable of healing itself. In addition, by going into an atmosphere where sickness is a business and a very strong belief, I was creating a situation for myself in which I would actually make myself sick. Going to a doctor is saying "I am" sick, thereby creating the physical reality of sickness. And what about the drugs they give you? What about radiation therapy? Now there's a hell of an idea! Let's prescribe something that's going to make people sick as hell and probably won't work anyway! Why not help people find out why they came down with cancer instead? Janet, CT

Dear Janet,

(1) I think angels are very real, very present, and very wonderful.

(2) God has no preference in the matter of whether we eat animal flesh or not. He simply notices that we have a preference for living long and healthy lives, and offers His advice on how to do that. And, incidentally, when noticing that "even animals eat animals," it should be pointed out that animals eaten by animals are often still alive, or have just been killed, and have probably never been injected with chemicals, preservatives, hormones, etc., which is more than can be said about the long-dead animals humans eat.

(3) Let's look at your comments on medical doctors, one statement at a time.

First, you said that you have always felt that by walking into a doctor's office you were giving up the belief that your body is capable of healing itself. Of course, if you have always felt that way, and if you refuse to change how you've "always felt," then there you have it. It can be no other way. On the other hand, you can decide not to feel that way. When I walk into a doctor's office I walk in with the feeling that my body can heal itself, and that a doctor can sometimes be of help, too. By taking an airplane to Dubuque, I am in no way invalidating my ability to get to Dubuque by car. I am simply choosing another way (perhaps a faster way) of getting where I want to go. In life, Janet, making one choice does not invalidate the other. Choosing chocolate does not make vanilla "wrong." Unless, of course, it does. It all depends on how you feel about it.

Next, you said that when you went into a doctor's office you were going into an atmosphere where sickness is a business. I think differently. I see a doctor's office as a place where the people there say healing is the business. Therefore, I do not see myself as creating a situation for myself in which I would actually make myself sick, but, rather, creating a situation for myself in which I would actually make myself well.

As for drugs and radiation therapy, there are as many people for whom these measures have done a lot of good as there are for whom they have been ineffective. I am not willing to dismiss all drug intervention on the basis of someone's idea that drugs are no good. And I know too many people who have greatly benefited from radiation therapy--including some very close to me--to dismiss that avenue out of hand. Now you ask, why not help people find out why they came down with cancer instead? I agree with you. The question should be asked. But the person who already has cancer may want some additional assistance.

Yet the point of CwG, Janet, is that you create your own reality. There is no contradiction in the book on this point. If you see or perceive other contradictions, always go with your own deepest feelings, your own deepest truth. I am not here to talk you out of your truth, but to assist in leading you to it.

Love, Neale.
