Neale Talks About the ABC's of CwG!
How simple is the message of Conversations with God? It is as simple as A-B-C. Here is something that I woke up with in my head this morning...
A ll things are One Thing. There is only One Thing, and All Things are part of the One Thing that is.
B etter is an illusion. Nothing is better than anything else.
C all on Me whenever and wherever you seek the Peace that I Am. I will be there.
D o unto others as you would have it done unto you.
E very act is an act of self definition.
F reedom is another word for God.
G od wants nothing at all.
H appiness is your natural state of being.
I nsufficiency does not exist.
J ust when you declare anything, its exact opposite will come into the space. This is the Law of Opposites.
K eep on. This is God work we are up to, so keep on.
L ife is not a process of Discovery, it is a process of Creation.
M asters are those who create more masters, not more students.
N othing matters.
O bedience is not something that God requires.
P reference does not exist in the mind of God.
Q uestion everything.
R ight and wrong do not exist.
S uperiority is an illusion.
T ransparency is the lifestyle of the New Spirituality
U nless it is. Unless it's not.
V ast is the wisdom of the Soul.
W anting something is the fastest way to push it from you.
X pectation is the ruination of love.
Y es is the only word in the vocabulary of God.
Z ero is What God Wants.

Personal Letter From Neale
My Dear Friends,
Argentina is a very interesting place. As many people from outside the country know, it is known for its great leather and great wine. Perhaps the best of both in the world. Certainly, near the top. But here is something I did not know: In Argentina, voting is mandatory.
That's right! In this country there is a law that says you must vote or pay a heavy fine, and perhaps other penalties for repeat offenders. You can obtain an exemption if you can show that you will be more than 350 miles from your polling place on election day, or in cases of illness or incapacitation, but for most people these conditions do not apply, and they had better get themselves to the polls, or else.
People here in Argentina wonder how there could have been such close elections of George Bush in the United States. They do not understand how, if he lost the popular vote to Al Gore in his first election, he could ever have gotten into office.
When I tell them, "Well, it was a very close outcome. If more people had voted, on one side or the other, there might have been a wider spread, and the controversies of both of the last two elections would not have erupted," they say, "What do you mean, 'If more people had voted?' Doesn't everyone vote?" And when I tell them, "no, of course not, we're lucky if we get 55 or 60 per cent turnout," their mouths drop.
In the last election here in Argentina, the turnout under the voting mandate law was over 85%.
Interesting, eh...? People here have had their share of revolutions and junta's running the country, and they decided after the last upheaval that if people wanted democracy they were going to have to support it. Therefore, voting is not an option. The huge majority here supported the Voting Law when it was first proposed and passed. They don't feel encumbered by it at all. They're glad they have it!
Well...I thought you would find that interesting.
Tomorrow we present our day-long event here, and I am very much looking forward to it. Yesterday I had a marvelous television interview, and today I have a media interview by telephone in my hotel room with some members of the press in Vancouver, British Columbia, where we will be going at the end of this month. Monday we leave for Atlanta for our major event there!
Only eight days left and we will be home! This has been a wonderful, wonderful World Oneness Tour...AND...I am going to be so happy to be home!
COMMENTARY ON THE NEWS from a CwG Perspective...
Today I would like to move onto other things that have been in the news, and step away from all the concentrated focus on Virginia Tech University.
I have been wanting to comment on the Don Imus situation since it was the Hot Topic of the Day, which I am aware it no longer is. But I am still wondering, what was the point of MSNBC and CBS firing Mr. Imus? Retribution? No, it wasn't that. It was not about "punishment." It was about the two networks making a statement of who they are and what they stood for. They could not allow any more trash talk on their airwaves, and they wanted to make a very clear statement about that.
Fair enough.
But I wouldn't have handled it in the way they did. Here's what I would have done.
First, call Imus in and tell him that his remarks were repugnant and repulsive and offensive to the sensibilities of just about Everyone, and not something that the network was going to tolerate on even one more occasion; that this was It -- the Final Warning - and that there would be no further discussions along these lines, just, if there should be another such incident, instant termination. Indeed, that he might be taken off the air even before the end of the very program in which the next offense occurred. In other words, turn his mike off right then and there. Pull the plug. Turn out the lights. Slam the door.
Second, suspend Imus without pay for 30 days. Then tell him that during that time he had to meet with the young women and the team that he so repugnantly insulted, and seek their forgiveness. Without such a meeting and a sincere in-person apology directly to the young ladies and their families, no reinstatement would occur.
Third, fine Imus $250,000 (out of a multi-million dollar salary package, still just a slap -- a hard one, but a slap -- on the wrist) and tell him that he must pay it not to the network, but to Rutgers University in the form of a scholarship fund in the name of the women he insulted. As a show of good intention, the network would match the amount, creating an instant half million dollar scholarship fund for Rutgers.
Fourth, require Imus to give at least one public lecture or commencement address within 60 days at the place of his choice or to which he might be invited, on the subject of tolerance and intolerance, free speech and damaging speech, humor and attack, and of the responsibility of major national media figures to consider the sensitivities of those about whom they choose to speak pejoratively.
Fifth, and last, require Imus to have as many of the offended students and their family members as chose to appear on his own radio program, to say to his audience whatever they chose to say in defense of their honor and in response to Imus' verbal abuse.
All of these steps would have been much more productive than simply throwing the man out the door. Always the question, if someone offends or commits a "wrong," might most beneficially be, "What would love do now?" Would love have simply fired Imus -- or given him a chance to truly make amends?
Always the question is: retribution or reparation? By giving Imus an avenue through which he could both admit his mistake and make things better, repair the damage, in a way that would have brought real and tangible benefit to the girls, the team, and the university he offended, everybody wins. In an enlightened society, an offending person is told of the offense, then given a chance to make proper and full amends.
This is what should have occurred in Imus' case. Firing him said little for the networks and their ability to respond to the situation creatively and compassionately, with an eye toward benefit for all concerned.
That's my thought. What's yours?
If you are a member of the CwG Messenger Circle, you may wish to post your own observations and comments there, to share with the many others in the Circle, where we may all conduct an ongoing personal dialogue, growing with one another in that process.
My personal reactions and responses to Messenger Circle Comments on our last blog are posted on the blog Comments Page associated with that entry. And I will see you here again soon.
Blesséd be,
Neale...

Questions and Comments from CwG Readers
Dear Neale Donald Walsch:
I have so many questions regarding CwG , but I think I'll just ask one at this time. I don't recall reading anything about forgiveness. Did God in this conversation mention forgiveness, since forgiveness is such a large issue in Christianity? Also, your format is very similar to A Course In Miracles, in which forgiveness is almost everything. This book has helped me tremendously so far, although it really has scared me in many ways. I appreciate all of your efforts.
Tracey, NY.
Dear Tracey,
I'm sorry that the book really scared you. You're the first person ever to have told me that. Maybe everyone else was too scared to! But Tracey, I want you to know that I forgive you!
Okay, enough kidding around. Here's what I know about forgiveness. In God's world, it is not necessary. God's "forgiveness" is not required for anything. Forgiveness implies that we could do something to offend God, and that is simply not so. The reason God cannot be offended is that God cannot be hurt or damaged in any way. You cannot "hurt" God's "feelings." You cannot "damage" God's "self-esteem," and obviously you cannot damage God's body. In the absence of the ability to inflict hurt or damage, there is nothing to forgive. And why is it that God cannot be hurt? Very simple. It is because there is nothing that God wants or needs from us. That's right. God wants nothing from us, least of all that we worship Him, much less worship Him in a certain way. Put in another way, God's love for us is unconditional. No matter what we do, God does not give a damn. He gives blessings, but He never gives a "damn."
Does this mean that we do not have to use the tool of forgiveness in our own lives? Well, Eric Segal was right when he wrote in his wonderful novel, Love Story , "Love means never having to say you're sorry." Still, until we reach that level of understanding and mastery, forgiveness can be a powerful learning device. It allows us to "let go" of our grievances, and to move on with our lives. In fact, forgiveness can be one of the single most powerful transformational tools ever.
The truth about us is that we cannot be hurt or damaged either. We simply do not know that. We have gotten caught up in "non-remembrance," forgetting Who We Really Are, and allowing the illusion of hurt and damage to seem very real. It is only when we return to the realm of the absolute, following what we call our physical "death," that we realize that no one has ever hurt us, and that we were "making it all up."
Mind you, we have become so good at making it all up that to us, it seems very, very authentic. But it is not. And in the moment of our transition from this life to the next we will realize this fully. It is in that moment when we will forgive everyone for everything we imagine they have done to us, and in the next when we come to understand that even our forgiveness is unnecessary, because there are no victims and there are no villains, only a divine process which is ongoing. For more on this topic, and a better understanding of it, read the children's book, The Little Soul and the Sun .
Now what is scary about this for some people is that, if there is never any real reason to forgive anyone, and if God does not "punish" us for anything, that must mean we can all do whatever it is we want to do. This, in turn, translates in some people's minds into pure chaos, with everyone running amok and all of us doing horrible things to each other. This idea grows out of the thought that the human race is inherently bad, and that, left to our own devices, with no threats or controls hanging over us, we would all behave very poorly.
In fact, exactly the opposite would be found to be true, as highly evolved beings who once lived under a system of laws and exterior controls much like ours, learned once they stepped out of their fear. It was a fear so strong that they, too, invented a God of vengeance and retribution, just like ours, until they discovered, over the course of many thousands of years, that such a God was not necessary. We are just beginning to learn that on this planet.
Asking! Keep asking! Always live within the question. That is the way of all Masters.
Love.....Neale. If you would like to send a comment or a question to Neale here at the Weekly Bulletin, you may do so by addressing an email to: weeklybulletinresponse@CwG.org
Please note that because of the volume of mail that we receive, it is possible your letter will not get printed here. However, we do our best to see that all letters get a response, if not directly from Neale, then from a CwG Foundation staff person, or LEP participant.
