Talks About Spiritual Helpers … Spiritual Helpers are like Guardian Angels in physical form. They are real-life people like you and me, only they are determined to send a message to our world -- and especially to those who are stepping off on The Spiritual Path. Let me explain. You can be a Spiritual Helper. Perhaps you already are one. You can send a message to others, in a hundred ways. People are watching you all the time. Model the behavior you would recommend they embrace. People are listening to you all the time. Say the words that you would have them hear if you thought their lives depended on those words. Because they do. I hope you will support that work. I hope you will investigate the LEP. I hope you will become a Spiritual Helper and send a wonderful message TO our world ABOUT our world, and about God. But be sure that you send the MAIN message of CwG and the New Spirituality: "Ours is not a better way, ours is merely another way" to find God. Otherwise you could fall prey to the temptation of making CwG the one and ONLY way -- and that would be just the opposite of what CwG invites us all to experience. - NDW
Message From Neale My dear friends,I had a wonderful lunch the other day with a lady named Juanita McKenzie, the Humanity's Team Country Coordinator for New Zealand. She lit me up about the work that Humanity's Team is doing in her corner of the world, and I realized that we truly are now just a few more people away from critical mass in our attempt to change the world. Juanita was telling me about how she became involved in the mission of Humanity's Team, through her first contact with the Conversations with God material a few years back. It was at the time of the death of her father, and a friend stopped by to chat with Juanita and see how she was doing. After an unexpected four-hour chat around the kitchen table, this friend said, "I know of a book that I think you need to read. You need to read Conversations with God. " Juanita took her friend's advice and went to a bookstore to look up the text. Finding it on one of the shelves, she started leafing through it and found "way too many references to 'God' to suit my taste." She explained to me that she'd grown up in a family where organized religion was not part of the landscape. "My parents wanted their kids to decide for themselves about these things, so they never forced their ideas about God on us." Juanita never bought the book. When her friend asked her later about it, she admitted that she had not purchased the volume, but then she said, "Tell you what. Do you have a copy you could loan me? I'll crack it open and give it a fair chance." She then told me with a chuckle that "flipping through the pages standing in a bookstore and reading it straight through from front to back were entirely different things," and that once she began reading the text she "could not put it down." The book, she said, changed her life. "I was so deeply struck by nearly everything I read," she told me sincerely. "I remember one statement in particular -- the statement that said that the words 'God' and 'life' were interchangeable. I remember thinking that years before. It seems I'd always thought that. And now here it was, in a book right in front of me! It was as if I had written the book myself, because I found this kind of agreement with the contents in many, many places. It seemed as if with every third paragraph I was saying to myself, 'Yeah, right! I knew that all along.' So the book was a great confirmation for me, a great release. I released all my ideas that I was 'crazy' or 'weird' for the way I thought about God and life, and I began thinking, 'Hey, maybe it's those other ideas that are weird." Conversations with God , Juanita said, gave her the freedom to dwell comfortably in her beliefs -- and, moreover, gave her hope that there were others on the planet who felt about God and life the way she did. She then became determined to find them. Why? Because she knew that if she could "just make a connection" with others who felt as she did, there might be something that she could do, after all, to help the world help itself as it struggled with its own massive "identity crisis." It was at this point in our luncheon that I darn near jumped out of my seat. "That's it!" I chirped. "That's exactly the plan! That's exactly what we all need to do! If only I could find more people like you ! More people who have been so deeply and positively touched by Conversations with God that they have found a new way to live life, a new freedom, in it -- and now want, out of that amazing energy, to share this gift with all the world." I told Juanita that "we want to unify the human race under a set of understandings with which we can all finally agree." The "we," of course, is Humanity's Team, a worldwide grassroots bridge-building movement that seeks to bring people together around a central organizing principle: that the world CAN be changed -- and that individual people can change it, using the power of individual and collective spiritual activism. "Yes, yes, I know!" Juanita joined in. "That's just what we're doing !" And she handed me a brochure from Humanity's Team/New Zealand. It's a marvelous document. I wish I could reprint the whole thing right here. Among other things, it assures the reader that Humanity's Team is NOT a "new religion." Our purpose is not to create a new religion, but to create a new view of the religions we now have , the brochure says. Our idea is not that humanity needs to reject or abandon its spiritual beliefs. It is possible to maintain the great truths and wisdoms of all religions, while freeing ourselves from the limiting doctrine and dogma. This is what is meant by The New Spirituality. Article continues... Blessings to all, Neale Elsewhere in this week's Bulletin I have talked about what it means, and what it takes, to become a Spiritual Helper. This Sunday, May 21st, I will be giving each of you a chance to become that helper and that messenger. I will be asking the question, What transformed your life? I am asking people who have seen a real change, a real shift, in their lives as a result of the New Spirituality and the new experience of God that it has brought them, to share their truth about all of this with the rest of the world. I am also going to be asking Rachael Kennedy, director of the Life Education Program for the Foundation, to talk about all of this, and to explain the purpose and the function of the LEP. I very much look forward to hearing from you this Sunday afternoon. Here are the phone numbers again. And for more information on other ways that you can become a Spiritual Helper on our planet you are invited to go to partofthechange.com and download the free booklet, Part of the Change: Ten Steps to Becoming a Spiritual Helper. "This is something you must understand: your whole life is a teaching. Everything that you think, say and do instructs another. Do you imagine that others do not know what you are thinking? Is it your idea that they are not listening to what you are saying? Are you hoping that they are not watching what you are doing? Young people, especially, are eager to learn about life, and they learn the most about life from life itself. And they intuitively know this. That is why they observe so closely. Young people miss nothing. You think you are kidding them? Think again. They see the fear. They see the anger. They see the hypocrisy. They see the saying of one thing and the doing of another. And yes, they even know pretty much of what you are thinking. More than you think they know."
Neale Donald Walsch and the Conversations with God Foundation have been supporting and encouraging people to form Study Groups for the past 10 years now. We now want to introduce you to an even more powerful way of coming together in circles, that will help us move through the uncertain times ahead.
Introducing Heart Circles Heart Circle is a wonderful way to get in touch with the
deepest desire within you -- and to help you become more and more clear
about exactly what it would "look like" for that desire to
become reality in your life. There is no faster path to authenticity
that I know of than this wonderful Heart Circle process.
Everyone here at the CwG Foundation, including Neale has been part of a heart circle and it has incredibly impacted our lives. What are heart circles?
“Group
for me was undoubtedly the best healing and growth experience of my
life… Bar None! Nothing on this earth has ever provided me the
safety, confidentiality, and permission to be myself that, weekly, I
found sitting in circle.” Message From Marion... Hey Everybody ~ You can tell my life has been a little bit crazy since I haven't even had a chance to write and share all that's been going on. Well I'm back now and I have a few tales to tell and more than that, some things I feel are significant insights into my world and that of CwG. Everything went from controlled madness to bordering on the absurd about three weeks ago. I ended up spending a week with Patty Hammett in the accounting world, which isn't much fun, especially when it's hour after hour, day after to day. The very cool part of this experience is that the Universe has provided me with this wonderful friend and co-worker Patty. We love each other dearly as the best of friends and our working relationship has just grown and flourished in the time since I came to the Foundation. Patty has been here since the very beginning when the Foundation was just an idea that came up while sitting around Neale's kitchen table. She is so valuable in looking at the Foundation from a historical viewpoint. The other thing that's great about working with Patty is that she does the stuff I don't do well, or don't particularly like, really well and vice versa. For instance, I am just intolerant of the whole process around benefits and insurance. It could be that it's just such a convoluted business I can't get my head around it so I become resistant to it and that resistance turns into intolerance. The other thing that's very similar is my experience of taxes. Understanding taxes is Patty's gift. The really great thing of it all is my awareness that I've created working relationships in my life that compliment my gifts, and that in the divine nature of it all, every base is covered well. Sometimes my greatest challenge is to get out of the way of my own creations; trusting that every need and want is met before I even ask. I find so difficult sometimes to demonstrate this. Often, I understand the concept; yet my actions and thoughts are anything but a demonstration of that which I know to be so. I'm still frequently surprised and amused by the level of amazement I feel when I successfully manifest exactly what I set out to create, and I wonder if I'll ever get to a level where I can rest in the knowing that I will successfully create that which I choose on a more conscious level. Today I still just delight in my own amazement of it all. Anyway, the retreat was last week and it was just fantastic! We ended up with 37 participants who made up a great, dynamic and very diverse group of wonderful people. What Neale did in the room, followed by LEP facilitators, Rachael and Joanna, our experts in taking the concepts of CwG , and in this instance, Home with God and making them come alive experientially, created a profound experience for both the participants and the staff. We also had a day with Master Young Hee who created the perfect segue between the cognitive and the practical application of the concepts through the experience of Dahn Hak. Wow, as I write this it feels so inadequate. The words just aren't there to convey the powerful experience that was had by all. As the director of the Foundation it's such a challenge. We're constantly struggling to fill the rooms of our retreats, and yet every single retreat leaves such a lasting impact of everyone who has the opportunity to share in the experience of it. This is another area where I am still amazed every single time. I'd love to tell you that every retreat begins with us knowing what we're going to do and what outcomes to anticipate, but nothing could be further from the truth. Oh, there's never a question that Neale is the "master of the room" and of our really being able to express the concepts found in all the CwG books in a very powerful way for everyone there. However , every single retreat takes on a life of its own and is a very unique experience. I just wish I could put that in a bottle and sell it to people. I wish there were a more effective way to market it so that more people would have the opportunity to truly be touched by the CwG message in this profound and life-altering way. Oh how I wish I could give the experience to everyone. What a different world we would live in if that could happen! Article continues below...
Article continues... Coming up next month we're venturing out into yet another untested arena for the Foundation. Rachael, our Director of Education, and Phillip Daniel, one of last year's FasTrak graduates, are taking part of the LEP to San Diego, where they'll be doing a new retreat called Love, Sex, Money and Purpose . They've designed this retreat specifically for young adults, a new focus for us. Taking the concepts of CwG around Love, Sex, Money and Purpose to a very frank, safe and open discussion format, coupled with a strong focus on experiential processes, is an opportunity that we are all very excited about. The idea of helping young people get in touch with their passion and purpose, recognizing the part they play in dealing with the challenges facing them in today's world, feels exciting and important. Think about it! I can't imagine what I would have become in my life if I'd been given these types of tools and viewpoints twenty-five years ago when I was a young adult. when I contemplate this opportunity to work with young adults - to push their boundaries and encourage them to move to the next level of demonstrating their spirituality, I feel full of anticipation when I think of the impact we can have on individuals, communities, and the world. What an honor to be a part of all of this in the world, and what an honor to share these experiences with all of you that read this article! Thank you all again for your continued love and support of CwG - please don't ever forget just how important each and every one of you is to bringing this message into the world and keeping it alive now and for generations to come. Bless all of you! Have a great week as you continue to re-member who you really are and steadily become the next greatest version of the grandest vision you hold of who you really are. Love and Light,
Dear Neale...How do I help my troubled teen niece spiritually? We have a major crisis involving her in a possible bad cult????? I am a devout reader of yours and I love everything that you write and I have a knowing in my heart and soul of the truth you write of. I want to use that to show her how to find herself again. It is in all of us, and I need more guidance. Medical care hasn't worked. It's her soul. Please help. Thank you. Dawn Dear Dawn...Thank you for writing to me. Your teenage niece is going through a very typical process for persons her age: the struggle for individual identity. Ironically, many young people fight to gain an individual identity by joining a GROUP. This is because the group gives them an identity other than the identity they've been carrying around for years from their family of origin--which they recognize not as THEIR identity, but as an identity which has been, in a sense, forced upon them. Young people will do anything to throw off this identity (even if they wind up trying to find it again and picking it up again when they turn 30!). Joining a group that is as far away, in terms of its beliefs, from the young person's family of origin is one of the fastest ways of achieving, actually, two aims: (1) create a new identity; and (2) still have a "family." In this case, the group substitutes for the family, playing the same role in the life of the young person by giving that person a sense of belonging, a sense that others are around who care, and a sense of not being alone in the world. Nobody wants to be alone in the world. Young people do, however, want to "get away from" the identity that has been given to them (whether they wanted it or not) from birth. This is right and good, for every person must ultimately find themse lves, and even if they return to their childhood family's identity, they will do so by choice , not by chance, and that will make all the difference. So the first thing that you can do to help your niece through this difficult period is to understand exactly what is going on here. This is a period that she must go through if she is to grow into a fully self-empowered person. So whatever you do, I would advise you and others who are around her not to make her "wrong" for what she is doing or how she is acting. Rather, encourage her. That's right, encourage her. Invite her to look deeply, very deeply, at what she is doing, and why. Invite her to keep asking two questions: Is this who I am? And...Is this the highest and best I can be? Then, invite her to ask two more questions. Tell her, these are the key questions of life. There will never be two more important questions. Here they are: Where am I going? Who is going with me? NOW...Dawn...and this is terribly important...tell your niece, "Sweetheart, these two questions I have just given you must NEVER BE ASKED IN INVERTED ORDER. You must always ask and answer the first question first. If you change the order of the questions and ask the second question first, you will wind up going where you go in your life because of the company you keep, rather than keeping the company that you keep because of where you are going. This is not a small matter. People who decide on companions first, before they decide on direction, often never choose a real direction for themselves , or, if they do, they often never get to follow their inner direction and their inner dreams because the people with whom they are traveling through life do not create the space for that to happen. So invite your niece to ask herself these questions, Dawn. And, of course, do all that you can to assist her on a spiritual level. Send her good energies every day. Include her in your prayers and meditations. You might even write her a short note, or send her a card, with encouraging and accepting thoughts..."You are special," "You are extraordinary..." etc. Finally, you may find it a wonderful idea to tell your niece about Conversations with God for TEENS , the CwG book for younger people, available from Scholastic Press. This text includes questions and answers directly related to the daily life of teenagers. I wish you well, Dawn, and thank you again for writing. Hugs...neale. Dear Neale, Thank you for the priceless and immeasurable contribution you have made to much of humanity in reminding us of the truth of who we really are and our purpose here!! There's so much in the CwG material that has resonated with my own inner truth and wisdom, Neale. I'm also very much looking forward to the CwG movie coming out in October :-)! Knowing firsthand the penetrating impact the CwG trilogy had in me, I can imagine how far-reaching and personal it will be to experience your astonishing story on film for me and others! Thank you also, Neale, for sharing your insights and the insights of others via your weekly bulletin. I recently had the chance to read your April bulletin article titled Why Life is a Mess and felt moved to express my personal insights about it. While what is expressed therein certainly resonates with my own truth and inner knowing, I also felt that it expressed only part of the truth abut this important topic. For instance, just as there is the Law of Opposites, there is also the Law of Attraction...thank God :-). As in, when we feel naturally drawn to or draw to us other human beings that are resonating in the same loving/peaceful energy we may be experiencing inwardly (choosing/deciding to create). Conversely, we are also naturally drawn away from that which is in disharmony or is the opposite of that which we are experiencing inwardly and wish to create outwardly. Once life lessons are learned, I also feel we do not need to continue re-creating (or accepting in our lives) experiences that are the opposite of the truth of who we really are in order to fully experience being the truth of who we really are and choose to be. As we are all simultaneously co-creators in this human journey and our state of consciousness is at different levels of awakening (remembering), we cannot take responsibility for, or own every single event/occurrence that appears in the realm of our individual human experience, for there are inevitably times when what appears in our human lives is entirely something that another co-creator has manifested. We can only take responsibility for the part that we create/contribute to and choose how we respond to the part being created by others. Though in the realm of the relative/duality, we may need to temporarily experience that which we are not in order to experience that which we are, in the blissful/divine realm of the absolute we are most certainly capable of freely and fully experiencing our godly essence/nature eternally... if we wish to. Thank you for the opportunity of sharing :-)! Love and blessings, Rosa
