Neale talks about... SEX AND SPIRITUALITY

Many humans have been told that What God Wants is for sexual union to be experienced only with one’s spouse for the purposes of procreation and the expression of love.

One result of this teaching: Millions of people believe that sex may absolutely never be experienced in any way that deliberately prevents conception, and that while sex is wonderful, to experience sex simply for pleasure with no possibility of procreation is against the will of God and, therefore, “unnatural,” immoral, shameful and a giving in to baser instincts.

The combining of pleasure and shame in this construction has produced chronic emotional confusion: wonder, excitement and passion, yet embarrassment, fear and guilt, about sexual desires and experiences.

"Many people believe that sex experienced in certain ways, even between husband and wife, is “unnatural” and therefore immoral."

In most cultures the sexual parts of human bodies may not even be referred to by name. The words vagina and penis are not to be used in public (except as absolutely necessary in a purely clinical setting), and never with small children. The words wee-wee, pee-pee, or bottom may be used freely. In short, the human culture agrees that the actual names of certain body parts are shameful and embarrassing and are to be avoided whenever possible.

And, of course, if one cannot speak of certain body parts, one certainly cannot show them. Many humans feel that certain body parts must be covered and hidden, having been deemed too arousing or too shameful, or both. For those parts not to be covered is incorrect and unacceptable. Indeed, in many places it’s actually illegal, with punishments in civil law for those who fail to obey.

Many people believe that sex experienced in certain ways, even between husband and wife, is “unnatural” and therefore immoral. And again, in many times and places, some experiences, although between consenting adults, have actually been made illegal. Those who wrote such legislation said that they understand that God does not want certain sexual experiences to occur. God sends people to hell for this.

Humans also believe that intensely graphic depictions of sexual activity in photographs, drawings, comic books, video games, television and motion pictures are distasteful, repugnant, disgusting and unacceptable. Intensely graphic depictions of extreme physical violence and killing are, however, entirely acceptable.

"Now along comes the New Spirituality, and it speaks differently about sex."

Millions of humans believe that sexual energy and spiritual energy do not mix. They have been told that sexual energy is a “lower chakra” energy, and that sexual activity and spiritual clarity essentially oppose each other. Persons seeking to achieve spiritual mastery are therefore advised against engaging in sexual experiences. Some are actually required to remain abstinent.

This is, many of the world’s people believe, What God Wants.

Now along comes the New Spirituality, and it speaks differently about sex. Humans who embrace the New Spirituality understand that sexual union is a glorious and wonderful expression of the Oneness of Being, an extraordinarily powerful and deeply meaningful experience of the most intimate physical, emotional, psychological and spiritual aspects of the self that two people can share, and a celebration of love and life that has no equal in physical form.

They also see clearly that sex is not laden with any taboos, do’s or don’t’s, but is meant to be experienced joyfully by two consenting adults in whatever way brings pleasure and respects the boundaries, desires and agreements of both.

They also understand that the human body is sacred, not embarrassing, and that no part of the body is anything other than totally beautiful, and may therefore be shown and seen without shame.

One result of this new teaching: In the future, sexual guilt and sexual shame will virtually disappear from the human family. So will sexual assault. Sexual expression will be lifted to the level of the profound, never lowered to the level of the profane, and there will be no thought that spiritual energy and sexual energy do not mix, but rather, it will be taught that sexual energy is a beautiful expression of spiritual energy in physical form.

Message From Neale

My dear friends...

I wrote a commentary a few days ago on my blog that received so much reaction, I want to share it with you here--with some additional words having to do with the work that you and I are now doing on the planet, each in our own way, and on the work of our CwG Foundation.

The time has come...for all of humanity to decide Who and What we Really Are, and Who and What we Choose To Be in relationship to that, and how we wish to demonstrate that in our world.

The time has come...for leadership to emerge in every city, town, and village on the globe, in every time and place, in the form of brave and strong and wise individuals, ready to receive the call, prepared to make whatever sacrifice is required, anxious to get on with the task, and determined to not abandon The Work until The Work has been done.

The time has come...for you to decide whether you are that leader in the world within which you move, if you are to be that one who will stand shoulder to shoulder with the few courageous Others and change the course of our Future by changing the direction of our Present.

"It is a revolutionary world we live in, and this generation at home and around the world, has had thrust upon it a greater burden of responsibility than any generation that has ever lived. "

For the world can wait no more. The people of this planet can sustain themselves no longer across millennia and centuries on the strength of humanity's past and present behaviors. We have, at best, but decades left, and then we will be required to shift our experience, or we will have our experience shifted for us.

Our species, as a collective, knows and understands this at a celluar level. We are therefore now asking ourselves, on this day and from every corner and place: If not now, when? If not you, who?

For it is as Robert F. Kennedy said, addressing the people of South Africa on their Day of Affirmation in 1966, in words that are even more true today than they were then:

The cruelties and obstacles of this swiftly changing planet will not yield to obsolete dogmas and outworn slogans. They cannot be moved by those who cling to a present that is already dying, who prefer the illusion of security to the excitement and danger that come with even the most peaceful progress.

It is a revolutionary world we live in, and this generation at home and around the world, has had thrust upon it a greater burden of responsibility than any generation that has ever lived.

Paraphrasing and expanding on the words of Robert Kennedy, I would observe that there are some who believe there is nothing that one man or one woman can do against the enormous array of the world's ills. Yet many of the world's great movements, of thought and action, have flowed from the work of a single person. A single monk began the Protestant reformation, a young woman reclaimed the territory of France, one lone black minister said "I have a dream" and altered the course of his nation's history, a frail and elderly nun awakened the compassion of humanity across the globe. And 32-year-old Thomas Jefferson declared that all men are created equal.

Once again quoting Robert Kennedy directly...

These people moved the world, and so can we all. Few will have the greatness to bend history itself, but each of us can work to change a small portion of events, and in the total of all those acts will be written the history of this generation.

It is from numberless, diverse acts of courage and belief that human history is shaped.

Each time a person stands up for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, that person sends forth a tiny ripple of hope...and, crossing each other from a million different centers of energy and daring, these ripples build a current that can sweep down the mightiest walls of oppression and resistence.

...Like it or not, we live in times of danger and uncertainty. But they are also times more open to the creative energy of men and women than any other time in history. All of us will ultimately be judged--and as the years pass we will surely judge ourselves--on the effort we have contributed to building a new world society, and the extent to which our ideals and goals have shaped that effort.

Robert Kennedy also said these words:

Some men see things as they are and say, why? I dream of things that never were and say, why not?"

It is time, now, for us to say, "Why not?" It is our opportunity to begin a new kind of civil rights movement...a civil rights movement for the soul...freeing humanity at last from the oppression of its beliefs in an exclusivist, violent, angry, and vengeful God, who would judge us for our human foibles and misunderstandings, and who would condemn us to everlasting damnation for approaching Him in the "wrong way."

" This is important work that you are doing, and you must, must continue."

What the world needs now is a New Spirituality, a new way to honor our impulse toward the Divine that does not make others wrong for the way in which they are doing it.

I know that many of you are working right now to produce that result, each in our own way. I see this every day, and each day I hear about efforts distant from me, in which you and others like you everywhere are engaged. This is important work that you are doing, and you must, must continue. Continue in your homes, continue in your relationships with your loved one, your children, your neighbors and friends, your co-workers, your fellow citizens. And continue in ways to increase and magnify your probability of success in making a real difference on our planet.

That is, of course, the work of this Foundation---the Foundation that sends you this Bulletin each week, filled with what we hope are inspiring and helpful insights from CwG. And the Foundation's work goes way beyond that. From our Books for Friends program, that sends free copies of CwG to prisons and the indigent, to our Life Education Program, which is preparing people in unique and extraordinary ways to be Messenger of tomorrow in the New Spirituality.

The CwG Foundation is a non-profit organization and is therefore extremely grateful for every bit of public support we receive. If you enjoy receiving our FREE Weekly Bulletin, and if you believe that there is value in the other work that we do, we hope you will consider making a donation.

Even the smallest amount helps us continue offering valuable resources to our world, including this Bulletin. If we received only a quarter a week from just those people who receive this Bulletin each week, it would give us a tremendous boost. Elsewhere in this Bulletin is a note from our administrative director, Marion Black, with more about this...and about how you can help in the work of carrying the life-changing message of Conversations with God to more and more people---not only to change THEIR lives, put to begin to change the world.

I know that with your leadership, there is little we cannot do.

And now, if you will permit me a personal note and a personal request at the close of this letter, I would like to share with you some good news that has brought me lots of smiles this week. The first reader reviews of HOME WITH GOD are in...and here is what they have to say...

As posted by readers at www.amazon.com...

FIVE STARS: A timely and amazing read...From Reader62
" I have been riveted by Walsch's books for the past ten years, and indeed, they have altered my perception of life. In February, I heard that this book was soon to be published and I looked forward to buying it. In fact, I kept reminding myself to buy it from time to time...to watch for it in March.

Quite unbelievably, my father passed away just days ago, at a young age and very suddenly. He was my mentor, my sage.. an endearing and fulfilling part of my life. Wise beyond his time, his beliefs and the way he lived his life were very unusual and extraordinary. His passing was a shock and a great loss to all who knew him. I have never known such sadness and suffering.

And yet, the idea of this book popped into my head just days after his passing and I can't tell you what comfort it was to see it on the shelf when I set off to find it. Some of the concepts and ideas are incredible to grasp, but yet, they ring true and broaden our perceptions in such amazing ways. I see my father's life and his death in a new light and while the sadness lingers, I am aware that his journey hasn't ended...."

FIVE STARS: Beautiful Sadness - The Book is Beautiful, the Sadness is that it is the last CWG book.from Simongiftcard "Sci fi romantic" (New York, USA)
I believe this book should be owned or read by everyone who will one day die/transition/crossover - i.e., every human being on this planet. Such a beautiful and lucid discussion by God/Neale Donald Walsch of what death is and means, and really, what life is and means. Sadly this is the last CWG book and such gratitude to Mr. Walsch for bringing through this absolutely awesome book to the human race. To my opinion the CWG books are possibly the most important messages humanity has ever received, especially at this most crucial time in our evolutionary development.

I read this book in it's entirety yesterday...If nothing else, this book should be read for the lovely and profound prayer God offers to be read to the dying. "Death" is something we all face and most fear, and reading this book makes this transition (when it is truly time) feel natural and welcome. Again, I feel strongly that copies of this book should be available at hospitals and hospices and anywhere transition is imminent. A fitting and amazing end to a true classic series.

I am so very, very happy to note that more reviews which have continued to come in are echoing these sentiments. We have something very, very special here---and now we have a chance to touch the world with it, if you will help us. This is our last issue of the Weekly Bulletin before Home with God Day, which is next Wednesday, March 29th. I am asking each of you to help me bring the wonderfully healing message of this final CwG book to the attention of the whole world by ordering your copy, if you had planned on getting a copy anyway, on this one particular day, over the Internet.

If you would do this for us on March 29, we could launch this just-released book in attention-getting fashion. AND...if you will go on that day to a special website which has been set up to make all this possible, I have arranged, in appreciation for your kindness and generosity of spirit, to make available to you an incredible array of thank you gifts! To redeem these gifts as you order the book, just go to this website ON MARCH 29...

(note: this link will not work until March 29, 2006)

Thank you so very much for joining friends of CwG from around the world in making this day of launching a very special moment is the history of the Conversations with God experience. This is the final book ever in the CwG series, and I know that you will be so very happy that you have obtained this text.

Hugs and love to you all...

Neale.

Message From Marion...

Hey Everybody~

Well it’s been a really interesting week that has been full of contradiction and the extreme ends of the spectrum of relative emotions.

I spoke last week about the current financial difficulties of the Foundation and while all the stress that comes with that, it hasn’t lessened the joy of receiving all of the dollars and words of support which have been wonderful and uplifting.

We here are so grateful to all of those that answered our plea and came to render aide. Our circumstances haven’t changed that much financially – we picked up about 20 new monthly contributors, and total contributions since last Friday have come to about $7,500. This may sound like a lot of money to many of you, but the truth is it will probably get us through the next payroll and the bills that come due at the first of next month – that’s not what feels so important to tell you about.

What feels important to discuss with you today is how much all of the energy you have helped create has changed the energy here at the Foundation for me and the staff. After the Bulletin went out last Friday, the emails just started flooding in and it just felt great. Sometimes, especially for me, as I’m the one that does the accounting and am the captain of this proverbial ship it gets really scary and I begin to feel pretty alone with all this. What you, our readers, reminded me of in so many ways is truly how not alone I am. All of us here got beautiful emails full of love, excitement and appreciation and that helped just as much as every single dollar we got in contributions.

I received letters from individuals that shared with me how this material and the things the Foundation does have changed their lives and continues to enrich them through the bulletin and newsletter, and I felt so blessed. Neale gets these letters all the time and so do Joanna and Kate and those that process all the mail and email from readers, but I rarely see them, and I was uplifted and filled with appreciation and joy. It just felt so great.

I received letters from people living on fixed income barely able to make ends meet that wanted to give a dollar or two every month, and I was truly humbled. I got letters from numerous individuals that were elderly or infirm and they felt so badly that they couldn’t help financially, and I wept.

I got wonderful letters from those that couldn’t donate but shared with us either wonderful ideas that might help us or their own personal services in lieu of money. These were huge and I felt overwhelmed with gratitude.

Interspersed between all of these emails and the myriad of emotions that I experienced with them the launch of the new book Home with God which created craziness and even more stress, but best of all, excitement.

“I knew that my whole life would change…”

“Somewhere in the middle of the second day I knew that my whole life would change. I was right. It has. Thank you, thank you, thank you for this incredible experience. I get it! I am ‘not my story’!”
Jeanne K., Philadelphia

This is typical of the many extraordinarily positive reactions we have gotten to the spiritual renewal retreats created by the Conversations with God Foundation and facilitated by Neale Donald Walsch. Here’s another…

“Remarkable. Deeply insightful. And tremendous fun. It was all that I hoped for, and more. This really got me in touch with the Truth about me. It was a truth that I dared not believe until now.”
Alex O., London

And now we are excited to tell with you that the stunning messages of Home With God - In a Life that Never Ends will be shared with a retreat audience for the first time since publication of this remarkable book, when Neale meets with a handful of people in Ashland, Oregon May 8-14…a week that could change your experience forever.

This week will explore life and living and death and dying in a way that you may never have explored them before. If you are facing a particular challenge in your life right now—or if you simply have a yearning to grow and to expand in your experience if your Divine Self and your spirituality, click here.

On Monday night, we had a brainstorming session at Neale’s house and that built even more momentum. For several hours Neale, Kate, Roger, Will, Patty and I sat in a circle and just went through a bunch of ideas on how to turn things around, how to fill the retreats, change the bulletin to increase readership, recreate the newsletter to make that program work better, things we could do to go with the release of Home with God. The energy that builds around this type of meeting is huge – Neale wields a tremendous amount of energy and enthusiasm around anything that has to do with getting the messages found in the CwG material out into the world –and when he gets on a roll full of excitement it really gets intense.

All these things that happened this week greatly shifted things for us here at the Foundation. Once again we feel energized and excited to continue to do all we can to get this information out into the world. I have no idea whether we’ll be able to stay in business much longer or not. I have no idea what the future has in store for us at the Foundation. What I am very sure of is that what we do is greatly appreciated by many – that what we do touches lives and hearts and minds of many people – and my truth is, that‘s what really really feels important to me.

I am just so incredibly blessed by all these gifts. I am very clear as the books talk about – without every bit of the hardship, sense of loneliness, frustration, stress, and sometimes just plain abject fear, I could never begin to experience the incredible sense of gratitude, community, joy and excitement that my job and my experience of you, our readers and supporters, affords me.

Thank you all for being Who You Really Are, and being there for those of us here.

Questions and Comments from CwG Readers

Dear Mr.Walsch!! ...

I hope you will find time to answer me (if not, I will understand). I'm from Croatia and I read 6 your books. I'm very fascinated. I would like to ask you for help(although these books helped me a lot to realize many things and to get picture of God who loves all of us,and who doesn't know for punishment). In past three years I had many problems in my life. I'm now 18 years old. In that 3 years I was often bad mood and after some time I lost confidence in other people. I stopped believe in future, in myself. I tryed to commit suicide few times. And became someone who doesn't know where he is, why should he live in this world, etc. Everyday things are boddering me. I left school (I still have a chance to wright exams), and I can't find myself here. Could you help me with some advice.

Thanks in advance.
Your's faitghfully, Filip.

Oh, my dear Filip! I LOVE you for writing to me! That's number one. The first thing I want to tell you is, I love you for writing to me. Thanks for having the courage, thanks for having the openness, thanks for having the determination to get some answers to life's biggest questions. Second, Filip, I want to tell you that you are not alone in looking for these answers. People all over the world are asking the same questions that you are. So don't think for one minute that you are "the only one" who is having these problems or is facing these kinds of challenges.

Now, Filip, let us look at things together. Here is what I know. The time that you are now moving through is difficult for every person. Many younger people are not clear about who they are and why they are here. Yet there is plenty of time to create those answers. You do not have to have all those questions figured out now. I would like to advise you to just allow yourself to let some of the questions be "unanswered" for a while. Live you life with all the wonder of youth, and let part of that wonder have to do with wondering who you are and what you are doing here! Allow your life, as it rolls out ahead of you, to bring you these answers! Life will reveal the answers for you, I promise you.

Oh, Filip, my wonderful friend, do not do this suicide thing. Our world needs young people such as you! Look at our strong you are to even ask me this question! Look at how open and honest you are! You are just the kind of person we NEED on this planet in the years ahead. Read my letter at the opening of this Weekly Bulletin, Filip. That letter could have been written just for you! Read it over and over again! It is about assuming leadership in our world---and that is something that you can do!

You can be a leader right now, Filip! You can show other young people your age what it is like to create a life with new ideas about God and about each other---the ideas that you have embraced as a result of becoming aware of the messages of Conversations with God and the New Spirituality. There is so much good you can do in our world, and right there in your own community. All you have to do is look around you, and you will see opportunities all over the place!

And do whatever you can to learn as much as you can, Filip. These are the exciting years when you can learn as much as possible about the world around you! What are your interests? What are you most fascinated by? Why do you think God put you here on this earth? To just give up and throw your life down? No, Filip, No. Your life is the gift that God gave you. What you do with your life is the gift that you give back to God. So give yourself some time, in order that you may give this question of what you will do with your life some real thought. First, spend the next year or two simply observing life. Look around you. Watch carefully what is happening. Go to school, or, if that is not possible, find some small job somewhere, and begin to observe life, and see what gift it is that you will be called upon to give.

Let will resolve this question in the process of life itself, Filiip, if you will allow it to. When you get into a "bad mood," go right out and find someone who has things even worse than you, and help that person in some way. It will amaze you how much better you feel...both about yourself, and about the world. And don't give up, Filip. You are a treasure to all those who love you, and the number of people who love you will increase even more as each year goes by. Especially when you devote your life to do someone nice or something good for at least one person each day.

Write to me again in six months, Filip, and let me know how things are going. I want to hear from you.

Love and hugs...Neale.

The following is an excerpt from Home with God in a Life that Never Ends, the last dialogue book in the series of With God books:

Immediately following your passing from physical life, when you moved into the third stage of death, hope became reality. Every illusion of physical life was revealed to be just that—an illusion. Your eyes were opened, your perspective was enlarged and enhanced, and, having let go of the thoughts and beliefs held in your mind through the processes encountered at the second stage of death, you began forming new beliefs.

Now remember the Formula for All Life, for it holds true not merely for life in the physical body, but for the Afterlife as well:

Hope is the doorway to belief, belief is the doorway to knowing, knowing is the doorway to creation, and creation is the doorway to experience.

Experience is the doorway to expression, expression is the doorway to becoming, becoming is the activity of all Life and the only function of God.
