CwG Weekly Bulletin #182:  All the World’s a Stage

Week of March 3, 2006

My Dear Friends...

It has been a quiet and contemplative few days-- for me and for the ReCreation Foundation. Last weekend I received a call with some very sad news. "Neale, Dennis is gone." Then, in the next breath, "Don't be sad. Don't!  It was a beautiful death. It was just beautiful."

Gerry and Dennis Weaver have been friends of mine, and of this Foundation, for many years. Dennis was more like a brother to me, really. We thought of each other as just that: brothers. We spent Christmases together. We traveled on cruise ships together. We worked on projects together to help our world, including Dennis' wonderful
Institute of Ecolonomics (combining "ecology" and "economics"), on which I served as a member of the Board of Trustees. And Dennis and Gerry both attended multiple 5-day retreats presented by the Foundation.

There has never been a nicer man, a kinder man, a gentler man, a more loving man on the face of the earth than Dennis Weaver. He wore his fame with enormous grace, self-effacing humor, and a wholesome sweetness that touched everyone who knew him and everyone who met him for the first time. I learned about walking with fame from Dennis, the softest, gentlest teacher I ever had.

His spiritual depth and level of consciousness and awareness was and is that of a person dwelling in mastery. A place of quiet peace existed within him, and I am sure it still does, and it is from this place that he emerged in all of his dealings with the world.

With his beloved Gerry at his side (they have been together since high school), Dennis lived an extraordinary life. He used his high profile to do what he could do to make the world a better place. His wonderful autobiography, All the World's a Stage, tells his very human story in a warm and humorous way, bringing wonderful lessons to us all.

I know that Dennis is watching me write this...so I'd better watch what I say. He would never have it that he was anything more special than anyone else. Yet he would have us
ALL know how very special we are, and he flinched not for a moment in using his own life to show us that. God bless you, Dennis, my dear, sweet brother. Your gentle presence comforts me now in my personal loneliness. I love you. And all of us at the Foundation will miss you enormously.  We know that you are with us in Spirit, and we move forward with our work, feeling your continuing support and encouragement.

And speaking of support and encouragement, we received word this week that the publishers in New York (Atria Books, a division of Simon & Schuster) have already gone into a second printing of HOME WITH GOD in a Life That Never Ends -- and this, before the book has come out!  Apparently the advance orders have been tremendous for this last book in the CwG series.

MARCH 29 is the day that I am asking all my friends everywhere, if you are planning on getting this book anyway, to please order it from amazon.com or barnes&noble.com.  If we can create enough sales for the book on that one day, we can drive it to the best seller list -- and that means that it will come to the attention of many, many other people around the world!  So please, if you are thinking of adding this final dialogue in the CwG series to your library, ORDER IT ON THIS DAY: MARCH 29, 2006.

HOME WITH GOD in a Life That Never Ends looks deeply at the most important aspects of life by exploring deeply its most misunderstood process: death and dying.  This mystical text describes what occurs in the moments following our departure from physicality, the journey of the Soul through its merging with The Essence, and the miracle of re-emergence, when the Unified Soul becomes once again a Singular Expression of Divinity, carrying the same identity it held at death, but with an Expanded Awareness that produces the experience of what humans call "heaven," "paradise," "nirvana," or "bliss."

Here is information that has never appeared in any form in a previous CwG dialogue. HOME WITH GOD will bring to its readers gentle comfort and a deep awareness of the glory and the wonder of life---a life that never ends. It is as much about the here and now as it is about the hereafter, for, as the book itself declares, when you unravel the deepest mysteries about death, you unravel the deepest mysteries about life.

Please mark your calendar, and make WEDNESDAY, MARCH 29, "HOME WITH GOD DAY" by going to amazon.com or barnesandnoble.com and ordering the book on that day!  By doing so, you will be playing your part in bringing its extraordinary message into the marketplace of ideas.  Remember, it is from these ideas that humanity gets its next best idea about itself.

Thanks for doing what you can do, and God bless.

Neale.

“You have accepted that you are Separate From God not because you have experienced that you are separate, but because you have been told that you are—by organized religion.

One’s religion is a product of one’s birthplace and early teaching. It is a product not of eternal truth, but of cultural environment. People believe what they have been taught to believe. They do not question it, because they do not wish to question its source.”

                                    The New Revelations, page, 177

When does it all end?

When God has brought the knowingness of the absolute into complete experience through us and we are simply being God,” the duality will end. That is correct. “Will we simply be perfect love, life, and light and will fear, death, and darkness have no existence?” Yes, that is also correct. “Is this what is meant by the teaching of many metaphysical schools that there is no evil?” Bingo again.

However when you experience the absolute, and reside in perfect love with the knowingness that it is all there is, you will be satiated. You will be complete. Happy. Content. And ready to start all over again. For you—me, we—are God “godding!” We are life living. We are That Which Is, becoming. And once we have become what we seek and choose to be, we will unbecome it once again!

Once again we will give our selves the glorious gift of forgetfulness, so that we may once again remember and recreate Who We Really Are. This is the divine rhythm of the universe; this is the eternal cycle of all that is. For there cannot be “this” without “that,” “here” without “there,” “before” without “after,” “up” without “down.” Nor can there be that which is divine without that which is not divine. And that explains, at last, why God would create “evil!”

In truth, there is no evil. Yet we will create “evil,” we will create “less,” we will create not knowing, we will create not remembering, we will create that which we are not, in order that we might know and experience once again That Which We Are.

What we are is the all of it. And so we will create ourselves as less than the all, that we might look upon the all, adore the all, earnestly seek the experience of the all, and return to the all, then to separate from the all once again, in a never ending cycle. For The All cannot know itself as The All if The All is always in its Allness.

This is the great mystery which is explained in Conversations with God. This is the great revelation. It is why we have reincarnation. It explains that doctrine once and for all. It is why we have that which we call “evil.” It explains that experience once and for all. It explains why we seek over and over again that which we already have, and that which we already are. It explains why we forget, why we remember, and why we forget once again.

Now, do you understand? If not, re-read Conversations with God Book 1. It’s all there. Put very simply. Explained very exquisitely. It is really a rather remarkable document.

As is CwG, Book 3, which explains why some souls choose not to go back to forgetfulness, but to remain in total knowing and pure beingness. These are the masters and the avatars, and they walk among us even today, helping us to remember, helping us to know. And there are angels, too. Divine beings of pure light who guide us, assist us, comfort us, and—more often than we will ever know—keep us safe. And then there are the messengers. The tellers of stories and the spinners of tales and the weavers of dreams, whose job it is to ignite, and keep burning, the flame of wisdom and the light of love within the human experience.

I am such a Messenger, and so are you. And so are we all, if we answer the call. Yet many are called, but few are chosen. For we are the callers and the choosers. We call our Selves to the challenge, and we choose or not, as we desire, to carry the torch. - NDW

Message from Marion

Hello Everyone:

My name is Marion Black and I am the Chief Executive Officer of the Foundation.  I have decided to become a weekly contributor to the Bulletin, because I feel it is so very important for you, our readership, to be recognized, appreciated and kept informed about what we are up to here at the Foundation.

I also hope to explore in my articles what it is like for an organization to apply the concepts of CwG in its dealings with individuals and the world.  This will be an ongoing demonstration of “truth with ourselves about our selves”(as an organization), and  “truth about ourselves (as an organization) with others (you our readership”).  I can’t tell you how excited I am to open this door into our world with you and to become even more visible over the months to come.

This week at the Foundation has been pretty calm.  Will, our Retreat Coordinator, is off in Arizona on vacation.  It’s kind of a downtime for us as far as retreats go.  We ended up canceling the February retreat for lack of interest and we don’t start the real push for our May retreat until mid March, so this was a perfect time for Will to take some time to go visit family and friends.

Some of you may know Will from our events.  It’s funny – of the five of us that run the Foundation, Will is the oldest and yet one of the most spry.  He’s always the one up early in the morning and ready to work and since I’m very much a morning person, I really appreciate that.  I use him often as a wise sounding board and sage.  He is our observer; he never really gets into much of our drama, but when asked it is always clear that he has been very vigilant.  Often, he offers me great insight in his gentle way.  At any rate, what I’m really trying to say is that when he’s not here I miss him.

Rachael, the head of our education department left yesterday as well, for Australia.  She’s going to be spending a bit of time with family and then running our first attempt at doing one of our Life Education Programs on another continent.  We set the intention for doing this about 18 months ago and now the time has finally arrived where it became possible.

I am often struck by how unusual many of the circumstances we find ourselves in here at the Foundation are.  Years ago I was in the healthcare profession and whenever there was a situation or task in front of us as a company if we didn’t know what we were doing or we needed new and fresh ideas all we had to do was look around us at what other like organizations were doing and we could easily avail ourselves of almost unlimited resources as grist for the mill.  In this business, we don’t have such luxury.

While there are other organizations entrusted with information to disseminate and educate people about, the information in Conversations with God is just huge and almost everything new we try is a test run without much in the way of market research underneath it.  On top of that, we have our market, that’s folks just like you.  There isn’t a standard profile for a CwGer they are as diverse as the population on the planet.

As the books say, it isn’t whether God is talking but who’s listening.  Well let me tell you, those that are listening and responding are just as different as the colors of the spectrum.  This is tremendous in the whole scheme of things, but it’s a real challenge when you’re trying to develop programs to reach our readers and ideas to excite and entice them.

It’s like this, if I’m running a program to educate realtors in short order I can determine the kind of individual that is attracted to selling real estate.  Over a period of time I can assess the ways in which those attracted to selling real estate learn the best and after that it is nothing to put together a program that utilizes this information to teach these people interested in selling real estate the necessary information they desire to learn in a way that is consistently effective.

Not so with CwG!  Try teaching people about how the world and the universe work.  Try teaching people how to become who they really are, when they are from every continent on the globe, every social strata and walk of life, every faith and primary belief system.  All I can tell you is that our research and development has to come from inside and just as we are trying to teach all kinds, we too—the five of us in the room are very, very different and this can lead to chaos and uncertainty. It brings up our own stuff (and I don’t know about the others but I can tell you I sure have mine that often gets in the way!).

When it’s all said and done at the end of the day, we step towards principles over personalities and let the universe conspire in our behalf.  We trust our intuitive thought and direction and hold our breath to see if we got it right or not.

Sometimes we have a hit like our FasTrak where lives are completely transformed in wonderful ways, and sometimes we miss—like the retreat we had to cancel this month.  I love this company from the bottom of my heart. The material is the core of my truth, but every single day it pushes me to be more and better than I was before, and often I fail miserably.  I guess the greatest gift I’ve found in working with this material, is to get that even in uncertainty, even in the midst of failing miserably, it is all still perfect. The chance to do more and to try again is always there and I am able to do so with great hope and joy in my heart.

Blessings to all of you this week and thank you for this opportunity to share with you.

Questions and Comments from CwG Readers

Hello Neale, my name is Michael. I'm now 16 years old. I have written to you before some months ago. I wanted to ask you a question on Death. Is it really true, that when people die they actually come to total awareness at a full conscious level? And then right there, they know who they really are?

Dear Michael...It is my understanding that this is true.  My new book, HOME WITH GOD in a Life That Never Ends, speaks of this directly.  It indicates that there are Three Stages of Death: (1) Release of personal identification with the body; (2) Release of personal identification with the Mind; (3) Release of personal identification with the soul.  It is at the end of the Third Stage of Death that we come to full awareness, and know who we really are. HOME WITH GOD then describes the further journey of the soul through its Merging with The All, and its re-emergence as an Individuation of Divinity carrying the identity that it held in its most recent physical form.  The text goes on to describe the reason for this journey, and, therefore, the reason for all of Life.  HOME WITH GOD in a Life That Never Ends is the final book in the Conversations with God series and can be purchased on March 29 from Amazon.com. Blessings, Neale.

Thank you. Neale, for having the courage to publicly call attention to the revelations that God has given to mankind.  As the actions of nations get even more desperate and rash, this information brings a sane background in which to compare the actions to the ideas.  I only hope that different choices are taken by the political leaders in accordance with these principles that will bring about peace.

Now to my question:  I have wanted a spiritual answer to this situation for a long time.  I've been trying to reconcile what I have learned in the
CwG teachings with my real life experience.  My son died 3 years ago.  He was 18, had gotten himself in legal trouble due to alcohol; and on the eve of his sentencing he had gotten drunk with his friends and later committed suicide.  I know that God has no preference in our choices, including suicide; but all I've seen regarding this issue is about people with terminal illness.  What about young people that have a bright future but do themselves in because of a painful present moment?

Thank you for your time and effort in your reply.  Could you let me know if you have answered this in your bulletin or audio section so I know where to look to find your answer?  I work full time, am a single mommy to my daughter, and I go to school as well.  I don't always have time to look in many places to find out where your reply may be placed.  Thank you so much.

With Kind Regards,
Beth

Dear Beth...This is starting to sound like a promotional brochure for my new book, but I assure you it is not.  But it is funny how letters relating directly to material in the book all seem to come in at once, in the days before its publication.  Beth, the answer to your question is found, also, in HOME WITH GOD, the final book in the CwG series, to which I referred in the letter above.  The explanation of all of this is much too detailed and too nuanced for me to try to place that reply in the space we have here.  I do want to tell you, however, Beth, that your son is in a wonderful place, but not in a place that allows him to "escape" from the experiences that he sought to avoid.  Just the opposite.  In the nicest, gentlest way, he is being allowed, now, the opportunity to revisit and move through those same experiences, so that he may achieve the growth that he intended to achieve while he was here.  How this occurs is explored in detail in HOME WITH GOD.  I hope that you will order a copy on March 29 from Amazon.com.  It can be in your home the very next day.  Love and hugs...Neale.

Dear Neale. Hi this is Mitali.  I am 18 yr young. Since a year even I sit in the seat of meditation many times I have experienced something different....very different. Sometimes I feel something from within me is guiding me or talking to me. At this adolescent stage of mine I am having big dreams...exciting plans for the future but I am also distracted with things happening around me. Sometimes I feel so stupid that in spite of knowing the right things, I am not able to put it into action. Right now as a student I want to focus on my studies but I am not able to focus....I have lost my interest in studies. I want to get it back...I want to improve as a student… for now this is it. Thanks for reading. Have exceptional time. Love and regard. Mitali

Dear Mitali...It is very common for people who meditate to feel "guided" and to suddenly have "big dreams and exciting plans for the future."  This is because in meditation the Mind is restful, and from such a place of peacefulness within, wonderful thoughts and ideas and new awarenesses emerge.  Be very grateful for these, and honor them, because it is the Deeper Part of You "talking" to you in this way.  These thoughts and ideas do not have to be distracting to you, however.  One way to keep them from causing you to lose focus is to get them out of your head and onto paper.  Write them down.  Then you will not have to hold onto them and have them continually take up space in your thoughts out of fear that you will forget them.  This will create mental "space" to re-focus on your studies.  You can regain interest in your studies if you tell yourself that what you are now learning is exactly what you need in order to prepare you for the Big Dreams and Exciting Plans of your future.  Your time of learning is PART of your Big Dreams and Exciting Plans.  It is like the fuel for your rocket, allowing you to get to the high places where you are going!

Love, Neale.

THE NEW SPIRITUALITY AND THE NEWS

Observations and Commentary by Neale Donald Walsch

PLEASE NOTE: The following material contains information relating to certain topical and political news of the day which may be considered by some readers to carry negative, and therefore unwelcome, energy. Our purpose in reviewing these items is to participate in creating New Realities, by first looking at what we are now creating, then deciding what we would like to next place in our collective experience.  We believe there is value in this process.

Each week there is a news story or two that provides us with a wonderful opportunity to look at the world through the eyes of CwG and the New Spirituality.  We are co-creating these events, of course.  So let’s take a closer look at…

WHAT HAS BEEN CREATED...According to a report from ABC News, scientists have, for the first time, confirmed Earth is melting at both ends, which could have disastrous effects for coastal cities and villages. Experts have long predicted that global warming would start to melt Greenland's two-mile-thick ice sheet, but they also thought the more massive ice sheet covering Antarctica would increase in the 21st century. It seems they were wrong. Two new studies find that despite the increasing snowfall that comes with global warming as a result of the increased moisture in the air, Antarctica's ice sheets are losing far more than the snow is adding.

James Hansen, director of NASA's Earth Science Research, said that disaster could probably be avoided, but that it would require dramatically cutting emission outputs. If the proper actions aren't taken, Hansen said, the sea level could rise as much as 80 feet by the time today's children reach middle age. "We now must choose between a serious problem that we can probably handle and, if we don't act soon, unmitigated disaster down the road," Hansen said.

NEALE’S COMMENTARY…We humans really don’t care about “unmitigated disaster down the road.”  As Washington Post staff writer Philip Kennicott put it in a recent column: “…humanity finds itself in a state of perpetual adolescence, short-fused and remarkably indifferent to whether it wants or expects to have a future…” An example: In February 2004, consultants to the Pentagon released a report laying out the possible impacts of abrupt climate change on national security. In a worst-case scenario, the study concluded, global warming could make large areas of the world uninhabitable and cause massive food and water shortages, sparking widespread migrations and war.  Meanwhile, there is this statistic: Americans make up five percent of the world’s population, but contribute nearly 25 percent of the greenhouse gas pollution that causes global warming. We must—all of us, all over the world—we must beside now Who We Are and Who We Choose to Be in relationship to the world around us. To learn more about global warming go to http://www.nrdc.org/globalWarming/f101.asp To learn more about an Action Plan to Change Our World, go to www.thegroupof1000.com.  Global warming, in particular, is not specifically referenced in that plan, but education of the world’s people about Who We Are is relationship to God, to Life, and to Each Other is. The time has come for us to mobilize.  The time has come.

WHAT HAS BEEN CREATED…More than a dozen congregations have defected from the U.S. Episcopal Church since the first of the year in a growing rebellion triggered by the ordination of an openly gay bishop in 2003. The departures have been sparked by opposition to the elevation in 2003 of Bishop Gene Robinson, who has a male partner, to lead the diocese of New Hampshire. Now, two openly gay priests are among five candidates to be bishop of California in a diocesan election May 6. "There are some passages in Scripture that specifically do say that homosexual behavior is offensive to God," says Sue Chatfield, a member of a dissident parish in Orange Park, Fla.

NEALE’S COMMENTARY…Many people have used the fact that “some passages in Scripture” say this and say that, in order to justify their actions. The Bible says: “If a man's testicles are crushed or his penis is cut off, he may not be included in the assembly of the Lord.” These are words right out of the Bible. Do they upset or embarrass you? Do you find it hard to believe that such a prohibition is even IN the Bible? Turn to Deuteronomy 23:1-2, New Living Translation. Or you could go to the King James Version, which has it this way: “He that is wounded in the stones, or hath his privy member cut off, shall not enter into the congregation of the Lord.” This means if you have testicular cancer and have had a surgical procedure to prolong your life, you may no longer go to church.

And what does Scripture have to say about children who don’t obey? Kill them. What? Yes, Sue Chatfield of Orange Park, Fla., according to the Bible, God says to kill them. Don’t believe that? Well, it’s right there, plain as day: “If a man has a stubborn and rebellious son who does not obey his father and mother and will not listen to them when they discipline him, his father and mother shall take hold of him and bring him to the elders at the gate of his town. They shall say to the elders, ‘This son of ours is stubborn and rebellious. He will not obey us. He is a profligate and a drunkard.’ Then all the men of his town shall stone him to death. You must purge the evil from among you.”

So, Sue, I am absolutely certain that we can reply on a literal reading of the Bible to find out What God Wants.
