CwG Weekly Bulletin #160: The Time Has Come

Week of September 30, 2005

My dear friends...

This is Part 2 of a multi-part communication. For Part 1, see last week's Bulletin, (#159).

And so we ask, what in the world is going on here? And, if we truly are creating all of this...then WHY? And HOW?

(NOTE: To know what I mean by "all of this," please refer to last week’s bulletin.)

The HOW of it is clear. Today's Reality is being created by Yesterday's Consciousness. Consciousness creates. In fact, that is
ALL it does.

As I said in my letter here a week ago, we are all Triangles, and we LIVE in a Triangular Reality. I used some well known examples of this. Father/Son/Holy Ghost... Body/Mind/Spirit... Here/There/Everywhere... Energy/Matter/Antimatter...Past/Present/Future. One three-in-one reality that I did not mention was....Heaven/Earth/Human.

That's right. I am saying that the Triangular Construction of Heaven/Earth/Human is all One Thing. Indeed, there is nothing in
LIFE that is not All One Thing. We are beginning now --- at last --- to get our connection, to experience our connection --- to these other aspects of our Divine Selves. That is what is going on now. That is what we are confronting here.

There is NO SEPARATION between us and God, between us and Life, between us and the Earth, between any of us and the rest of Humanity. It is
ALL ONE. We are living in a singular reality. The practical implications of all of this? It is simple. What we think, say, and do has an impact on All Of This.

The Impact of Our Creations is felt both short-term and long-term. Every thought, word, and deed of Humanity is creative. These are the Tools of Creation. Thoughts, words, and deeds arise out of our Consciousness. And so Consciousness is the Prime Power of Creation.

Put another way: As you believe, so will it be done unto you. That is because what you believe, you will think. What you think, you will say. What you say, you will do. Thought, word, and deed arise out of pure Consciousness.

The moment we think ANYthing, we begin to create. Granted, the creative energy may not be powerful, but it does set things into motion. If we KEEP thinking the SAME THING over and over again, we add power to it, and bring it closer and closer to reality. If hundreds or thousands of people think the same thing over and over again, we are suddenly talking a whole new ballgame. We are talking about something VERY powerful here. That is why nearly all religions have their versions of...."wherever two or more are gathered..."

We also create outcomes by our words. If we say the same thing over and over again, we are giving energy to it. We speak an idea and then we throw LifeForce at it. That LifeForce is creative --- make no mistake about that.

We also create outcomes by our actions. The cumulative actions of Humanity are what create its outcomes. And this is what most humans do not see or wish to acknowledge.

A striking example: Meteorologists are now telling us that what is creating these terrific Category 4 and Category 5 hurricanes in the Gulf Region is the temperature of the water in that area --- which is warmer now than it has ever been before. That higher-temperature water heats up the air and creates terrifically powerful storms. And just why is this true more now than it was before...say, 10 to 15 or 20 years ago? You guessed it.

Global warming.

And who and what has created global warming? You got it.

Us.

We have.

Now I know there are STILL those out there who will absolutely DENY this. They become angry if you even suggest it. We want to step away from ourselves, and from our own responsibility in the matter, so badly that we run the other way from the evidence that tells us we are at Cause in the matter.

The plain fact is, we have added immeasurably to the geological mix of geophysical events to create the perfect conditions for the temperature of our air and water to rise faster and higher than it ever would have, left to Nature alone.

So we had hundreds of thousands of people streaming out of
Houston and screaming at their windshields because they were stuck in the Mother of All Traffic Jams, making 12 miles in 6 hours. And the Anger in America is swelling. We don't know who to be angry with, but we sure as heck are becoming very, very frustrated.

All of this is called Human Nature. But I prefer to call it Human/Nature....two parts of the three part aspect of our Divine Selves....Heaven/Earth/Human....or, if you please....

Human/Nature/Divinity.

Next week...more about The Connection...and The Conclusion.

Are these the End Times?

No.

Are these interesting times?

Yes. The most interesting times ever faced by Humanity. And what we are going to create in our Collective Tomorrows will be determined by how well we understand just HOW we are creating...and WHY.

Let me give you a "sneak preview" of WHY....

When Hurricane Rita was approaching
Houston's Johnson Space Center, NASA evacuated its staff, powered down the computers at Mission Control, and turned the International Space Station over to the Russian Space Agency.

Does that tell you anything...

Now, on to other things for this week.

"Pojdite in spremenite svet!"

With that, I said goodbye to my wonderful audience in
Slovenia Tuesday night, gathered at a large movie theatre is Celje, a small town near the city of Lasko, in the central-eastern part of this republic. It took me a few minutes to learn how to pronounce the words, which mean "Go and change the world," but it was worth it. The folks in attendance were delighted that I had taken the trouble to learn this phrase in their language. (I said the same thing in Italian to my audience in Milan a couple of days before.)

I also signed all of my books "Z ljubeznijo!" ("with love"). That, too, was welcomed with surprise and tears of happiness by those in the autograph line. People everywhere love it when someone makes an effort to reflect back to them their own culture. It is one of the fastest ways to open people's hearts.

And that is what I am now traveling throughout
Europe to do. The mission here is to continue the process of opening people's hearts (it is my third trip to this continent), which is the opening step in changing people's minds about God, about Life, and about each other. My time in Slovenia was extremely important to me in that regard, besides being utterly fascinating on a personal level. I enjoyed myself immensely.

Slovenia used to be socialist, living under Communist rule for decades. It is now a fully capitalist country, one of six republics that once made up the collective of states known as Yugoslavia. Hurray for the people, right? Well, actually...not necessarily. Talk to folks on the street here and you find not a few of them who liked life under socialism better. Indeed, I was surprised at how many people felt that way. Why?

"Capitalism has no conscience," one person told me very directly. "It's all about money, with no feelings at all for the people. If a company finds that it can find workers cheaper elsewhere, it simply closes its factory and moves out of a town, leaving hundreds out of work. Nobody cares what that does to the town. It's all about profits. Capitalism exploits human greed."

Several of those I spoke with said virtually the same thing in different words. There is much bitterness right now in
Slovenia, where a spate of factory and business closings throughout the nation in recent months has left thousands unemployed. "And so you have many people living on unemployment, or small welfare payments, from the government," I nodded in sad commiseration. "No," my Slovenian friend said, "they get no money from the government whatsoever."

"No unemployment? No welfare?" I asked, incredulously. "No, the government says it does not have the money to provide this. So these unemployed people are on their own. And many of them are older workers, or women. It is very difficult for them to relocate with another company and continue their work life. They are simply out of luck."

He cited the example of a textile mill that recently shut down, putting 500 employees out in the cold. "Practically the entire village was left unemployed," my friend said. Now, with no income, no government help of any kind, and no way to financially sustain themselves, they are on their own, left to their own devices in a world not kind to those who have little or nothing.

So was the socialist system better? "No," others told me. "That system allowed no opportunity for individualism, for self-expression. Everybody drove the same cars, lived in the same kinds of apartments, wore virtually the same clothes, made the same income. The ability to 'rise above,' to lift oneself up by one's own bootstraps, was stripped from the people. Individual talents, initiative, and determination meant nothing. We yearned for freedom. Freedom to be all that we could be."

Hearing all of this, I spoke with great passion to the Slovenian people in the theatre last night. "What is needed in our world," I said, "is a new system. A third system. A balance between capitalism and socialism. A system embracing the best of both, and wrapping them in new beliefs about God, about Life, and about who we are in relationship to each other. A system based on a New Idea About Everything: the idea that We Are All One and that There's Enough. An idea that allows industry and skill and steadfastness to be rewarded, but that provides dignity and sustenance to the less fortunate. We can create such a new system on this planet, but it will only happen when we begin the slow but sure task of changing humanity's most fundamental beliefs. That is where you come in.

I am now adding new lines to the talk that I present on the road. Paraphrasing the late U.S. President John F. Kennedy, I am going to be saying everywhere, "The work we are called upon to do will not be completed in the first 100 days, nor in the first 1,000 days, nor, perhaps, even in our lifetime. But let us begin.

"With a good conscience our only sure reward, with history the final judge of our deeds, let us go forth to lead the planet that we love, asking Divine blessing and Divine help, but knowing that here on Earth, God's work must truly be our own."

And so, onward and upward. From
Slovenia to London, where I will be presenting a weekend retreat on Tomorrow's God and the road to abundance. And then, a Teaching the Teachers Tutorial, offering help and guidance to those others who wish to teach the messages of the New Spirituality.

How exciting it is to be embarked on this undertaking. And how encouraging and inspiring it is to know that we have YOU as our partner in this creation. I hope that, if you have not already done so, you will become a member of the Messenger's Circle on the website at www.nealedonaldwalsch.com and join in the ongoing activities and opportunities that this interactive site offers you to become involved in the mission to change the world.

Check out the LEP program at the CwG.org site as well. It, too, provides WONderful opportunities for direct participation in becoming a spiritual messenger. For now, hugs from
London. See you next week!

The Time Has Come

“The time has come for you to have more courage

than any war has ever called upon you for,

than any hardship has ever demanded,

than even suffering has ever required.

The time has come for you to confront yourself at the level of belief.

The reason this will require so much courage is

that your beliefs form the basis of who you think you are.

You must challenge yourself.

You must challenge your society.

You must challenge your world.

You must collectively ask:

Is this who we are?

Is this who we choose to be?

Is this the only way we can live?

Is this the only way we know how to behave?

Is it possible there might be another way?

Might this other way bring us closer to what we say, as a species,

that we really want?

Are we missing something here?

Do we have the courage to seriously look at what that might be?

Do we have the courage to accept the answer that our searching uncovers?”

- The New Revelations, page 312

What Does It All Mean?

What meaning does all that has happened to you in your life have?

It means exactly what you want it to mean.

By that, I am trying to convey a large message and the grandest truth contained in CwG, which is that you are the creator of your own reality, and events in and of themselves mean nothing at all.

In CwG, Book 2 God said to me “I have sent you nothing but angels,” and I understand that to mean that we might perfectly express and perfectly experience the perfect creation of who we now choose to be. Therefore, the question at hand is not what does all of this mean, but what do you choose for it to mean, and what do you choose for yourself to be in relationship to it? - NDW

Questions and Comments from CwG Readers

Dear Neale...What is the role, do you think, of a spiritual messenger? I have been watching your life from a distance, and observing the commentaries that you offer, and they bring up this question for me. I mean this question sincerely, not snidely. Thank you for addressing it.

Geraldine, from New Hampshire.

Dear Geraldine.....I have been thinking a lot about this lately, so I am not surprised that you should send me this letter. What we think about comes to us --- sometimes very rapidly. I should tell you that in my imagination I see myself as that. In my mind I see myself as a spiritual messenger. Is that arrogant? I hope not. I hope it is courageous, but not arrogant.

God tells us in Conversations with God that we are
ALL spiritual messengers. We are LIFE, bringing information ABOUT life TO life through the process of Life Itself. This is how the whole system works.

Our spiritual message is our life, lived. The message that I bring the world about the world is the message that my own life sends.

There are times when that makes me depressed. For I am very clear that the life I have lived is not the Message I want to send to humanity about anything, much less Who We Are and how we can best make Life work. I have done things in my life --- and continue to do things --- that I wish I hadn't done and wouldn't do. I wish I could rise to my highest thought about my Self, but I just don't seem to be able to do it.

Of course, what we declare with our own words is going to be our reality, so right there I have "condemned" myself to not being able to do what I say that I want to do. So let me rephrase that. Let me say, and frankly admit, that until
NOW I have not been able to rise to my highest thought about my Self. Yet each day I am moving higher and higher. Each day I am being more and more Who I Really Am. And each day I am changing behaviors --- consciously witnessing what I am doing, and why --- and dropping as many behaviors as I can that do not demonstrate the highest version of Who I Am.

This is my path. I am trying so very hard to walk this path...and it is not easy. I will not try to kid you and tell you that it is easy. All of us are called, but few of us choose ourselves. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak. That, at least, has certainly been true of me.

So now, Geraldine, I step into tomorrow, newly committed, newly determined, newly encouraged by my own enlarging awareness. And I ask your help, and the help of all others. Please continue to remind me of Who I Really Am.

Should a spiritual messenger ever raise her or his voice in criticism of another individuation of the One Being? That is a very important question, Geraldine. As you may be able to see from the other letters here and in recent issues of this Bulletin, there are many people who feel that I should not be criticizing our president in my public statements. These people have really made me stop and think. Is criticism ever appropriate? Is it ever appropriate from a person who considers him-or-herself to be a spiritual messenger? What is the role of a spiritual messenger anyway?

It seems to me that the role of a spiritual messenger is to point out the spiritual truth in every situation. I perhaps have not been as clear as I might have been about that truth in my commentaries about President Bush and the current administration. I am looking at that deeply now. And I thank those who have caused me to explore this question more fully.

Yet there must be some way for spiritual messengers to say, "Warning. We are going in the wrong direction. Our current path is nonfunctional. It does not work. It is not achieving our stated objectives. It is not reflective of our highest thought about ourselves. It is not a demonstration of that." And I wonder how you do that without at least seeming to be "pointing fingers" at those people who are setting the direction...

Yet the first person to whom I must point fingers is me. I am far from perfect. In fact, so far from perfect that my own life is embarrassing. So I need to work now, and work fast, to clean up my own house. And I know that. I am aware of that. Deeply aware.

So, Geraldine, I am looking at the very question you have asked this week. I will let you know how my exploration goes. I do know this. It begins with deep self-examination. I am in that process now.

Thank you for writing, my friend. Let's move together toward our Next Grandest Expression of our True Selves.

With love and compassion...Neale.

Neale...

We all have opinions....you included;  use your website to pull your fellow readers and followers together...give us optimism;

we don't need you to tell us what the President is doing wrong!!..Encourage us to move forward...to move upward...to go forth and clean up the mess and help one another.  Help us to help ourselves...get our country in shape....be proactive...not another site that pooh-poohs our president!!...Enough already!!  You want to lobby your thoughts, go ahead...but don't try to lobby your thought about politics to me!!

The president is not the problem...your reactions are...read your Book 1 again!!

Max

Dear Max...Thank you for your communication. I appreciate very much hearing from you. Max, may I ask a question? What if I do think that the president is the problem -- or, at least, a part of it? Moving forward and cleaning up the mess, Max, sometimes has to involve noticing how the mess was made, no?. Even Jesus said to the Pharisees..."You vipers! You hypocrites!" I do not agree with you, Max, that the ONLY ROLE OF A SPIRITUAL MESSENGER is to ignore the cause of problems. But I am exploring this whole question of my role, so I do thank you for giving me a chance to look at this again.

A true messenger, it feels to me, Max, must do more than simply keep looking the other way, talking only about what it will require to clean up the latest mess. A true messenger must also point out how the mess got created, so as to avoid it in the future. That is what every conservative, fundamentalist pastor from every pulpit did during the last election campaign. They had a right to do that. Indeed, a duty. And I respect that. I ENCOURAGED that. I sure do wish that you and the others would respect my right and my duty to do exactly the same thing.

I wish you could find it in your heart to encourage me to do what I encouraged those conservative ministers to do --- even when and if you do not agree with all of my views, just as I do not agree with theirs. We need more ACTIVIST spiritual messengers, not more passive ones, Max. On BOTH sides of every question.

Max, Max.... CwG says, "Politics is your spirituality, DEMONSTRATED." I am looking very closely these days at how a true spiritual messenger lives that idea from CwG.

Love and hugs....Neale.

Dear Neale ~

I love receiving the CWG newsletter, but it is sometimes difficult to read the contents which focus so much on the wrong-doings of others and where judgment of others creeps in.  It is difficult, because I am working so hard on not judging others and trying to see everything and everyone as a reflection of myself.  Meaning, everything is a beautiful reflection....no right/wrong, good or bad.

As I skim over the letters about politics, Bush, Katrina, etc. I try to recognize and accept that everything that has occurred, the seemingly positive and seemingly negative is also a part of me, since we are all One.  And, I turn to Colin Tipping's book, "Radical Forgiveness", about which you have written praise, to heal any judgment I may have.  It helps me see that Bush and any other politician or person who seems to have done wrong, is merely serving as an angel to reflect all the same energy that exists in each of us.  So, as I am grateful to you, Neale, for reflecting the Light and Love we are all trying to remember, I am as equally grateful to George Bush for reflecting our pain, violence and neglect, so that we may face these emotions and heal them, once and for all.  It is all perfect and beautiful.

Be well,

Boadachia, Colorado

My dear friend...I do not consider an observation to be a judgment. I am, however, growing more and more impatient with those who in every situation and circumstance, no matter how dire or urgent, want to do a "new age bypass" and never, EVER say anything about the emperor wearing no clothes. Uh, excuse me folks...but, uh, well, you see, uh...how do I put this...? Oh heck, I'll just have to say it: The emperor is wearing no clothes. Hugs, neale.

In Response to Jan in Bulletin #159

Dear Neale,

Regarding your exchange with Jan (of Indianapolis) in bulletin#159 concerning 'political' opinions; thank you for allowing everyone a deeper insight into the person who is Neale Donald Walsch.  I wish to refrain from expressing any form of agreement or disagreement with remarks made by either you or Jan, as that is not the purpose of my writing.  Instead, I want you to know how encouraging it is, in a time when so many spiritual speakers are constantly scripted, rehearsed, and even accepting of organizational censorship for fear of retaliatory actions and diminished support, that you don't shrink from being who you are.

Continued Blessings,

Howard (Tyler TX)

Thank you, Howard, for saying that. I have tried always to be my authentic self. Hugs...neale.

======  ======

Dear Neale,

I was compelled to write because I was surprised at the tone and content of Jan's letter posted in bulletin #159. I am confused by the request that she and others make that "you please keep your political opinions to yourself and focus on your "writings" from God." To me, you have always been very open and honest in telling people that they are free to agree with you or not agree with you in any and all of the opinions and views that you express. How can someone not express political opinions if one is trying to effectively change the world for the better?! Changing the world for the better is intimately tied to changing the politics that fail the majority of people and favor only a small portion of people. As others have stated, politics are part of ones beliefs demonstrated and acted out. It also strikes me that someone can be so defensive of George Bush, whose ego obviously guides most every decision he seems to make and at the same time attacks you by saying you should put your ego aside! To me, it shows a misunderstanding of what "ego" is.

I also don't understand how Jan can write about "elite democrats" when the Bush Administration has done more to enact policies that help the wealthy at the expense of the poor. There are plenty of "elite Republicans" who defend the President because he helps them much more than he helps the poor. The evidence is obvious in the rising number of people who are falling below the poverty line. When Jan speaks of "your ill attempt to make the rest of us feel guilty if we have money"(?) and "your absurd political beliefs", how is that not her own ego talking?

I know my perceptions are much more in line with yours Neale though I feel like I can understand how and why people tend to misinterpret things you say. Words can be easily misunderstood. You have been a wonderful inspiration to me and what you have said about giving, I find inspiring. It seems to me that if someone is moved to feel "guilt" over things you have said, then that person does not fully grasp the deep meaning of your messages.

Again, I just felt compelled to write because I am often surprised at the venomous response of Bush supporters when they perceive anything less than support of Bush, regardless of the awful and dangerous mistakes he has proven he can/does make. Thank you for not being afraid to speak up when so many other people are afraid to do just that because of the type of response they could get from those who don't always fully understand or appreciate what they have to say!

Love, Jane

Thank you, Jane, for sending us your comments. Hugs...neale.

======  ======

I could have not said it better. I could also give a lot of arguments - like George Bush pleaded with the Gov. of LA the night before Katrina hit to let him declare martial law, but she said she needed 24 hours to make up her mind - like it is illegal for the federal gov't to go into any state without being invited, and they were not, not by the Gov. nor the mayor of N.O.  But - SO WHAT!'

You need to go back and ask God about your anger at the government. Or maybe read your books again.

I love your books. They are so inspired. We should hate no one.

Martha in Honolulu

You are right, Martha. We should hate no one. And I certainly do not hate my President. But I do believe that it is perfectly okay to criticize him when he does something I do not agree with, or when he fails to act as I may have wished that he would have. Surely it is okay for all Americans to agree and to disagree with their elected officials without being accused of hating them, don't you think? I don't think that YOU hate ME, just because you have criticized me. Golly, let's have a dialogue here, Martha. Dialogues are okay. Criticism is perfectly all right. It is what has kept the political conversation going in our country since 1776. Do you think it would be okay with you if we continued? Hugs....neale.

======  ======

Dear Neale,

You are George Bush.

As am I.

If we are truly One, then to cast blame outward would be a fruitless task, since there’s nothing out there. And you have to admit that your rhetoric was inflammatory: “…lame, limp, and impotent...” (#159) are not adjectives used by a loving spouse, nor are they found in the pen of a non-angry person. One does not use the dreaded impugning manhood adjectives unless in anger or cruelty. So apparently you’re angry at yourself for being dumb as a stump, for caring little for the poor, and having zero imagination. Plus it seems that you may be nothing but a front guy for conservative moneyed interests.

As am I.

One might wonder if righteous anger is the best response to colossal blundering, especially when it’s been done by oneself. Changes must be made. You are right, they absolutely must – or they will be made for us. But vilification may not be our best tool for effecting positive change. In my opinion, there’s already too much acrimony flying back and forth between people who don’t agree. If we’re not careful, we could end up focusing more on the blame than on prospective solutions that will serve all of us, both conservatives and commie pinko fags like you. (Just kidding…using some of your own rhetorical technique on you, so that you can ponder whether it’s an approach the goodwill ambassador of unity theology may want to maintain.)

One

Tom, Broomfield CO

Dear Tom....The word "impotent" and the others are used in many more contexts than simply "impugning manhood." And, while I appreciate your attempt at humor, your use of the term "commie pinko fags" as a comparative to my own words tells me almost more than I want to know about your innermost attitudes and state of mind. The fact that we are all One, Tom, certainly does not mean that we are not permitted, under New Age Ground Rules, to ever, ever make a critical observation of another human being. Jesus himself made many such critical observations of humans. Read your Bible. At one point he even made a scourge out of rope and drove the money-changers out of the temple. If HE can be that angry at social conditions, and express it publicly, my mild commentary places me in pretty darn good company, wouldn't you say, Tom? Hugs to you, my friend. neale.

======  ======

Your response to Jan was perfect. I love you, Neale.

Well, gosh, thank you. ndw

======  ======

Dear Neale,

While reading the response you gave Jan in the bulletin I sat there and literally nodded my head in agreement.  I agree with you totally as do many others, I'm sure, and am so thankful that you have the strength and opportunity to be the voice for so many of us.  I look forward to these bulletins and your books.  You are so right, they just seem to show up when I need them the most.

Your plans for Creative Education are perfect.  They should have the same classes available for grown ups too!  I am using these messages in raising my two children so thank you once again for putting the information in my hands when I needed it most.

With love,

Brenda, Saginaw, MI

Well, Brenda, I appreciate your sending your comments to me. Thank you. Hugs...neale.

======  ======

Wowee!  Someone lit a fire under Neale!

Finally, some passion in his response! Some fire!

You go, Neale.

Prove that you're as human as the rest, as human as Jesus.

Some people take themselves way too seriously.  After all, this is just Life, right?  We're all in the backyard playing - God knows we can't really hurt ourselves or each other. . .

On the politics is Spirituality demonstrated front  - I have to admit, I voted for Pres. Bush the first time around.  But, he lost me in a hurry when he brought on the Iraq war.  If the US is truly the leader of the 'free world' then we should have LED, should have found a different solution rather than war.

Former President Bush dropped the ball after Hurricane Andrew - he should have been down to Homestead, Fla, the day after, just as his son should have been down to Mississippi and Louisiana a day or two after Katrina.  For moral support, if nothing else.

These catastrophes are opportunities for growth and for uniting. We aren't watching other people on TV, we are looking in a mirror.  We were in the Super Dome, starving, thirsting, raping.  We were in the 9th Ward unable to leave, watching what little we owned drown in water.  We were on the Interstates seeking gasoline, food and shelter, lending a helping hand to others when we could.  We are them and they are us.

Now the question is, what are we going to do to help us?

Keep callin' the game, Neale.

Someone has to . . .

Candis

Dear Candis...Thank you for your comments. I do think that the times call for all spiritual leaders and messengers---"conservative" and "liberal" and "moderate" and otherwise---to allow their voices to be heard. Love, Neale.
